92 325-starving for gas

Recommended Posts

My car seemed to start spluttering as if running out of fuel. It got better for a couple of days then gradually got worse until it ran roughly all the time. But (would you believe it) when I was taking it to my mechanic it ran like a dream so he couldn't work out went wrong. My fuel consumption improved by about 100kms per tank full. Everything sweet. Until now when it stopped completely. It will start easily but it seems like not enough petrol is getting through to run it. I replaced fuel filter and fuel pump in the hope I didn't have to get it towed(by a tow truck$$$$) to mechanic and pay through the nose to get it fixed. But damn, the gamble didn't pay off. Has this happened to anyone else ???

had the same car...

checked your ignition coils..if you've got zundpule or something sounding like that...you're in trouble!!

they cost me a packet replacing all 6 of them..

but yeah clean out your injectors, replaced your fuel filter..see if that helps.

Guest Andrew

Would do a logical troubleshoot first:

Check ignition, fuel, MAF signals, Crank Angle signals etc.

Thanks guys, I will look at these options and hopefully be up and running. Whats involved with cleaning injectors. I would imagine getting to them and getting them out will be the most difficult part ?
