savvi 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2006 hi evryone ive recently joined up with bimmer, as i have just purchased a 1986 325i/s sedan lowered on 16s i got it 4 a real steal. now im lookng to meet up with other fellow bimmer members around chch area as i am from timaru but head to chch most weknds,just wana meet new people an discuss an throw around some ideas, 4 example i wont a k&n pod filter with a heat sheild coz i heard there are no benefits if u dont have a heat sheild, any help would be great Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
bravo 35 Report post Posted August 6, 2006 You heard correct - pod filter with no heat sheild = performance loss not gain. Either build a properly designed cold air intake, or put a k&n panel filter in the stock air box (most people recommend this and it is the setup I have run in both e30's).
