MADBMA 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2006 (edited) Does anyone no where to get some spark plug leads for a 94 318IS M42 engine, ive been into BNT they orderd 3 different sets which were all to short,then told me that they dont know what to do, repco can get them in for 500(specialised ones) i dont want to be going through the bmw dealer as theyll charge me more then i really want to spend. any help would be greatly appreciatred, im not even to sure its my spark plug leads which is why i dont want to spend to much, she misses occasionally, i cant see any visible cracks on the leads ive changed the plugs, fixed a hole in the airflow meter pipe, cleaned out the ICV, run some injenction cleaner through, so this is next. anyone no how to test the spark plug leads? hotwire 352 Report post Posted August 6, 2006 Hi There, Check resistance with an ohm meter - should be no more than about 15k ohms for each lead. Hard to check insulation though but look for visable cracking/trackiing particually on plastic ends. Carl 3 Report post Posted August 6, 2006 (edited) I'm no expert but clean you distributor rotor contacts if you can and ensure the spark plugs have the right gap. MADBMA 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2006 no distributor on these, has a heat coil instead with the firing order run off the computer, or somthing like that, so im hoping it aint somthing in the computer, spark plugs got changed about a month back and did help the problem a little bit, but it still misses Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
