Wheels, Slicks & E30's

Recommended Posts

Thought others might find this of interest.

I thought I'd get one of the old 240/625 R17 slicks I have floating around mounted to one of my newly aquired 17x9" E34 M5 wheels and test fit it to the back of the E30.

Well to my surprise, it was a perfect fit, didn't rub when I went for a little drive around the block.

The guard may need some TLC when I adjust the camber but nothing major.

I'll try to attach some pics for y'all.

Outrageous glenn!

I love tubine covers, just make sure you run them the right way!

Thanks Sam.

Unfortunately I only have the 1 Left inner & outer cover :(

Might have to buy the right side ones, they are just so " '80s kewl" like a E30

That is just plain cheating!

LOL

Only when I find some wheels wide enough to run them on the front and that clear the brakes :(

to add to the brake topic, for a basic 320i upgrade would 51mm struts and slotted discs be better? (are motorsport ones slotted)? and are braided lines worth it.

Guest Andrew

51mm struts use the same brakes.

Slotted discs will not give you any performance increase.

Braided lines are worth it only when used all round the car.

To answer your question though - a cheap upgrade would be some performance pads. Mintex M1166 - EBC Greenstuff, Ferodo DS11 (modern) - etc etc.
