jochen 4 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 Hi Ems (?), What year is your car? Is it NZ-New or ex-Japan or ex-Singapore? Do your indicators flash when you lock/unlock the car? Have you every tested the alarm to see how it goes off? Does it sound the horn as well as siren? Ta, Jochen

Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 Jochen - my E39 does. What year is your car? - 1996 Is it NZ-New or ex-Japan or ex-Singapore? - NZ new Do your indicators flash when you lock/unlock the car? - when I lock it only (not when unlock) Have you every tested the alarm to see how it goes off? - only by accident Does it sound the horn as well as siren? - just the siren (I think -not sure) The first time the alarm went off was when a friend was wandering around by the parked car with a portable phone from his house. That triggered it. The other time, I left my dogs in my car while I went into a shop. I forgot about the internal motion sensor. Off she went. Cheers, Rog

Off she went.I dont know if your aware Roj but on my e38 if I press the remote once to lock the car then press it a second time after its looked it sets the alarm but disarms the interior motion sensors.I assume the e39 is the same. Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 Jochen, did the above answer your questions, or is there something more specific we could help with?
jochen 4 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Hi Jazzbass, I am trying to nut out why my car doesn't flash the indicators when I lock it. I may be forced to have the tilt sensor and the ultrasonic sensor - I thought i might be able to ignore them I'll try and find the right bits on ebay etc and try it out. Huttey 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 (edited) Jochen, when I use the remote infrared keylock to lock my 99 E39 there is no noise or light flash, if you find out how to turn this on I would be interested in knowing Edited October 3, 2006 by Huttey
Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Jochen, btw - I'm Roger from Palmy - E39 Radio...
jochen 4 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 To turn it on: Go to BMW dealer, connect DIS Run the retro-fit alarm coding for your car Enable light flash for lock / unlock as desired. May or may not work - didn't flash lights on my car, maybe because it wants the extra devices connected as welll (tile sensor, movement sensor) Jochen
