Brake Wear Sensor

Recommended Posts

Whilst cleaning under my rear wheel arches last night, I noticed that following a recent service the mechanics had cut off my brake wear sensor when they replaced my brake pads. To get the light to extinguish they've obviously shorted the sensor.

Anyway, If I buy a replacement wear sensor can they be fitted to normal brake pads or do I need special OEM pads?

You need the OEM pads or pads that have the space for the sensor. Check the pads you've got to see if they have a little U space at the top (E: or I should say the outer edge when placed in) of them, if yes, then you can stick the sensor in. Edited by Carl

Most decent non-OEM pads have wear sensors also.
