Hartage 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) Am looking to find out a bit about M40 318 motors, just bought one with a probable blown head gasket, Do the heads crack normally? Any body got another motor, head,??? Twin cam????? will it swap over easy or not??? Performance and chips to make them go better, where from?? E30stz 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) I've got a spare M40 - they're well known for there snapping cambelts apparently. They're only single cam, maybe your thinkingt of the M42 318iS. I dont htink they make chips to tune 318i M40's just because the US markets dont have them and hte UK Markets I dont htink bother with chips for htem.
