bmwsparkle 3 Report post Posted November 7, 2006 hey noobs, lookin to possibly buy a fixed back seat for my car fairly soon, yet want something thats still going to be fine for long trips since the car will remain a mainly road but yet want to some clubsport events now and then so is going to be supportive. Not too worried about FIA approved as Im not keen to make it into a series car or whatever. What have you found supportive/not, and comfortable/not? Sparkle. I use a Recaro SP-G in the E30, I find it very comfortable. In the rally car we use Racetech 4009's, they are a lot tighter (come in various widths) but very comfortable also, have to be when you spend 2 days getting thrown around. Isn't the SP-G a carbon backed seat anyway? WTF is the racetech made out of? Unobtanium?

No, just a FG one, the CF ones are SP-C or A I forget??? I know, when I first looked at getting one they were $550ea (when they were first FIA approved), these days they are close to $1000ea (which is about the same as the 9009 (CF version of the 4009) use to be)!!!! They are V.Good seats though.
