bravo 35 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 Yeah it's safe to top it up. Make sure you follow the instructions in the owners manual - ie car is running and trans up to temp or else it will read low. Flush will cost $100 or more if done properly as they should replace the filter and there's quite a bit of fluid in one of these boxes plus what is wasted doing the flush, and fluid runs at around $18 a litre. blk320i 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2006 dont have an owners manual. but i been told to go for a drive for about 15mins then park and leave the car running. whilst running put foot on brake and cycle through the gears, stopping in each gear for a moment, then check the level. then turn the car off and add trans fluid then do the same again till the correct level is reached. does this sound right? do i fill it up to the top grey line on the dipstick? bravo 35 Report post Posted December 14, 2006 Spot on. The drive is to warm the box up so you don't have to do that between each check - just the first one. On the dipstick in my auto 325 there are two raised bumps on the stick for max and min.
