Katalyst 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 whys everybody so keen to shadowline, i think the chrome is class!!!
Mikal 4 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 I like the chrome but I'm kind of going for a more black look, I will be blackening the kidneys, blackening tail lights, side repeaters and front indicators also when i can afford some mags i will most probably go for some black or charcoal wheels maybe with a polished lip. The good thing about the electrical tape is if i don't like it any more or want the chrome back it just peels off.
jpp 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 (edited) Satin black your mirrors, wipers, door handles, and maybe the door edging. And imo, if you don't have chrome wheels, on e30s, the chrome looks very dated. Edited January 4, 2007 by jpp
bmwsparkle 3 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 looks weird with chrome bumpers and chrome side trim, I prefered it before to tell the truth.
Mikal 4 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 I thaught about painting the trim and bumpers but i will leave them for now just in case i change my mind. The wing mirrors definatly need to be repainted though.
nz320i 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 i have a pair of mint black mirrors black satin like new, without glass if your keen to offer me something for them.
Mikal 4 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 solved the problem of chrome on the trim. Not to keen to paint bumpers though, at least with the tape i can just pull it off.
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 Looks like you did it pretty sweet man. I reckon the chrome looked better on the car,but the last picture looks pretty sweet
TronSpec 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 Hmm I like the blacked out look Mike. I think I'm gonna do this to mine after I paint it. My chrome looks like sh*t anyway. Got scratch's and sh*t ....
Mikal 4 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 It should look better when i get some weaves and paint them charcoal or black, and when i get round to geting rid of the chrome on the bumpers. Can you buy wider electrical tape that could mask the chrome on the bumpers? The electrical tape is all temporary until I get confident enough to actually paint parts of my car. Mikal 4 Report post Posted January 5, 2007 It took me 24hours to work out my car needs the chrome back but I really like the shadowline, but it doesn't match the bumpers. so now it has chrome and shadowline. (I love this electrical tape, makes it so easy to change things.)
bimmer boy 21 Report post Posted January 5, 2007 I think it looks so much better half shadowlined since your bumpers are still chrome. I say leave it like that until you decide to fully go shadowline everywhere or even if you decide to at all because it looks good like that now, and you dont want to be a sheep do you?
