Painted valve cover and parcel trap

Today i took off my valve cover and painted it black, then sanded back the BMW badge, i think it looks much beta, also i took out the parcel tray and painted that with some cloth spray paint. Here are some pics.

Rocker cover looks good.

Gonna do mine tommorow hopefully.

Just sand it and prime and paint basicly?

Sand, prime, paint (make sure you use heat resitance paint). And and then sand back to get the bmw badge silver.

Or just put vaseline over the bits you dont want to paint ;)

What (if any) is the torque and possibly tension ratio of the rocker covers?

How did you get the parcel tray out? I want to spray mine but dont know how to get it out and I wanna try not to break it in the process

Very carefully!!! You have to remove the back seats, the seat belt cover thing on the parcel tray and just be firm and carefully and pull it out.

Looks awesome Ive being wanting to do this. What paint(s) exactly did you use on the valve cover and where did you get them from?

Yeh its a nice upgrade, the paint 4 the valve cover was vhf heat proof paint(1350 F) and i usedcarpet dye paint 4 the parcel tray, both from repco.

Hey - I been searching and can't find any posts from you saying your car is a 6cyl - only posts saying its an m10 e30 318 - the motor in the pic is a 6cyl m20 - did you know? or did you think you had a 4cyl e30???

LOL LOL LOL , you need to do more searches then, i have posted up a topic about my 325 twice, i sold it though cause i am a student and coud not afford to run it, also wanted a manual.

So I got the paint from repco, rear seats are out but I dont know how to take those plastic covers for the seat belts off the parcel shelf. are they bolted in or just clipped, anyone know how to take them off with getting my hammer out?

Snap them off, then buy 2 replacement ones from me.

Ok so I got them out, just used brute force and ripped them out, I thought they would be brittle and break easy but they are really bendy, and the shelf is all painted and put back in the car and looks mint :)
