OLLIE 26 Report post Posted January 25, 2007 So about 2 years ago i had my oil pressure switch replaced after it broke and spilled oil all over my driveway, same thing happened a year later and again a year later (today). Has anyone else had this problem with their E30? Is this part just poorly made? is something else causing it to blow? am i cursed? WTF?
kerrynzl 3 Report post Posted January 25, 2007 When I was flogging cars years ago , we were constantly replacing oil pressure sender units on XF Falcoons [they were a Bosch unit] I'd say the senders are poorly made Don't overtighten them in [use teflon tape] they always leak around the plastic insulation
kiwipetrolhead 1 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Buy genuine BMW and ask for the warranty. But yes, don't overtighten or damage with a socket that is not square-on. Paul
