E30 325i Rag-Top 2914 Report post Posted December 22, 2019 From the photo it looks like it goes to the capacitor on the bracket fixing bolt? The cylindrical looking thing next to the nut. In which case it is probably there for noise suppression to reduce the interference on the radio signal, you can a background "whine" on radio stations if various bits of electric gubbins in the engine bay does not have these fitted.
