  1. the fabric is sagging on my roof aye, so i've been thinkin of redoing it but been to lazy.

About $20 for a can of 3M contact adhesive [Try and do it yourself before you pay someone]

Go for the Clears if Anything

There's a Guy called "Sifty01" on trade-me selling a wing,to match those Angel Eyes[#62507357] If you have a bout of insanity

[Personally,I think it looks great as it is]

  2. Good Luck on the E36 Hunt, Sorry to see a Nice Car Written Off through someone else's misinterpretation of the rules.

an E36 Coupe is Cool mate [Try & keep your E30 springs,so you can dump it in the weeds]

  3. Is this a case of care in the community gone wrong or something ?

Hahahahahahahaha! South islanders Hahahahahahaha! He paid $350 for that, I wonder what those theives did with the rest of Richard Pierce's plane when they boosted it from MOTAT [Museum Of Transport And Technology for those Dunedin readers] He must of fitted it himself [No professional with ethics would do that] Hahahahaha!

  4. thanks for that will keep an eye on trade me, and be sure no txt writing will be posted by me again and the car is a 1992 e36 320i

To just repair it, Just chuck another Slushbox back in [About $700 used]

A E36 318 box does bolt up to a M50 [Keep the Engine standard tho]

I'm doing the conversion right now, I ended up Buying a whole car just for the conversion [no misc bits missing] Plus I get to sell the leftovers. So If you or anybody else reading this keeps in touch,I will know all about it by the end of next week. Expect to pay about $1500 For a complete E36 conversion [M50/M52]

    Have Fun. . . . . Kerry

  5. please tell me up to no good means 13000 RPM M52 with a turbo bolted on the side?

I'd like to tell you, but then I'll have to kill you.

All Joking aside, thanks for the offer Brent but I already have a mint 67k M50 2litre. I don't want to split open yet!

"Up to no good" is purely a subjective point of view. See , I've got this gorgeous E36 M spec Coupe in Red that my girlfriend has fallen in love with, and. . . . . . . . . . . I also have some Rollcage tubing etc.

Back to the Head situation, I hear rumours about the head castings, valve sizes, cam profiles etc being the same/or different on a M52 to M50 depending on who's telling the story [so I want to do a Fowbench comparison,& fingerprint the cams]to find the answers for myself before I start "getting up to no good"

So if anyone has an old 'cooked head' I can borrow, or a good m52 head I can buy, contact me

Does anybody know the maximum these motors can be bored to [i'm looking at boring it right out,and using Diesel liners]

I done this mod years ago on an HQ Holden to stop the bores "barreling" with 16.5:1 compression [Now Banned]

    Have Fun Everyone. . . . Kerry

  6. For what purpose/reason exactly - you will not notice a performance enchancement - if anything it will get worse due to wrong fuel pressures/mapping.

    Hey Andrew,I agree

Injectors run a 'duty cycle' so they can metre the fuel to the engine [usually a max off 80%] the only reason bigger injectors are needed is when the Engine pulls more air and the injectors cant keep up [if they are at 100% duty cycle, that's open all the time, and the motors running lean, get bigger injectors]

What has been done to the engine to require bigger injectors? Bigger Engine, More Revs, or Turbo?

Remember the engine is an Air Pump [that requires an Air/Fuel ratio] to get more power you increase the size of the BANG or you increase the number of Bangs per Minute, or both

  7. What about the rear shocks? they have that gay bit at the top, how would you go about that?

    buy new shorter ones maybe???

I've never seen E30 shocks out

On a Ford we use to knock the dust cover off then machince & thread them down [leaving a shoulder to take the loads] then at the top we carefully ground two flat edges [to use a cresent to lock it]Fords use a Pin not an eye at the top

I assume thats the gay bit at the top

If that doesn't work, Just cut it ,Thread it,and bolt a Female Rose Joint to the top [then bullshit everyone about your fancy QA1 shocky's]I've seen homemade coilovers done this way

There are plenty of machinists/ fabricators in NZ that can do these methods

  8. Has anyone got a M50 cylinder head I can borrow [2.0 or 2.5]? I dont care if its F***ed ,I need it for comparison figures on a Flow Bench & to measure against a M52 head! [i'm up to no good, Haha] I'm also looking at buying a Non-vanos intake cam,& an intake manifold from a 2-1/2 litre M50 [M50B25]

    Cheers Everyone Kerry

  9. meh, people have stated their opinions, and now its gone off topic because of comments that didnt make sense, that im correcting.

Possibly it would be better if gus didnt post such utter sh*t. Not that I care, once again his comments make me laugh. Lots. At him. LMAO etc.

I was saying points on why I like 5s more than 3s, usually.

LIGHTEN UP EVERYONE [We are all having a bit of fun, feel free to be offended] The Title of this Thread is OPINIONS PLEASE.

Maybe I shouldn't of catergorized a 5 series in the same group as a 'Coupe deVille with Whaleskin Hubcaps'

  10. How cheap do you think you could possibly dry sump an engine. Something like an F20C. S2000.

    Nothing too flash though

$2500-$3000 could build a basic system [3 stage without a heat exchanger , scavenge filters,or remote HP6 filter

The cheapest way would be to pick-up a complete sprintcar set up for a chevy [try ebay] Make your own pan,& try & adapt the drive,& use as much plumbing as you can from what you've got.[i've seen this done before,on a 24valve Toyota in a RX7]

  11. i have just put in some jamex superlow spring in my e30 318i, the problem is when it is jjacked up the springs are no longer captive, which i think it may fail a warrant on, i was suggested shortening the shocks or get munroe shocks wat should i do

Pull the inserts out & get em shortened, anybody with a decent lathe can do it. If the struts are buggered ,buy the correct length replacements

  12. Help, how do i get rid of it, my 2 virus protectors cant pick it all up, an the one from windows picked up F&^% all to, help...please! keeps popping up that im infected, an keeps changin my home page, an before you ask i wasnt downloading porn :P...... well not when i got it!

Go into Tools, Then Internet options , And Delete all the Cookies & Offline Files First [This has worked for me before]

Do a System restore to a Earlier Date as well

  13. Even Though they are built on the same floor-pan [& the 5 is lighter] the 6 is way cooler ,especially those limited edition Schnitzer models with Roll-Cages,Air Jacks,& Dry Break Fuel Systems

" Don't You Realize, With the Least Doors, And the Least amount of Seats, And the More Impractible it is, The More Desirable it is"

  14. The race car does 200 k to a tank of track driving that costs 110 bucks to fill heh.

SH*T that's cheap! $110 of Avgas at $2.00 a litre [55 litres to do 200k in a race-car] I'm at 1 litre a lap around the old Taupo Track [1.4 kms] with a 60 litre tank thats about 84km's of range

  15. [You can always add tints] Seriously though!,Desirability is a matter of opinion [including my comments that "touched everybody's heart"] But as a general observation, any vehicle derived from some Competition background has held some sort of desirability [eg; Falcon GT vs LTD , Mini Cooper vs Allegro, Torana GTR vs Statesman, Porsche 911 vs 928] look at the Holy Grail of Beemers, the E30 M3, or the 3.0CSL Batmobile, They will always be more desirable than a 7 series Beemer [which is a great car,"for a boat" haha!]

The reality is, BMW is trying to sell new cars [we are discussing the desirabilty & value of Cars that are 10+ years old]

  16. Keep the 3, as the blue-rinse-set start flogging them off to younger enthusiasts, It'll be more desirable if its more sporty

[compare a Honda Legend with a Civic for example]

I personally don't think any big old floaty 'boats' are desirable on our roads [unless you're a hot rodder living in the past]

  17. The sump guard is a BMW South African option. It's a swaged aluminium panel that bolts to the front crossmember and goes under the sump to another tubing crossmember[by the bellhousing]

the whole system looks similar to a rallycar type sump-guard
