  1. ok fuse 17 is fine and has power, k7 relay next to it has power tryed swaping for another relay no difference so guessing the relay itself is fine,

    is the circuit breaker the black plastic box down inside the gard below the speaker by the gas pedal? how do i reset/test it?

    also carnt find the second relay by drivers front speaker (kick panel) could it be somewhere else ?


  2. ok update just checked the fuse with power tester its fine power there but no power at the swith so must be the circuit breaker will check when the rain stops.

    iv only got the one window kill switch for the rear and its all hooked up had to fix it when i got the car.

    should i hear the relays clicking anything like that is there a way to check them?

  3. hay cheers for the replys i dont think its the switch cause they worked mint (well drivers one was abit slow going up) then they just died thinking more a fuse or relay.

    where would i find this relay jochen? its a 320i e30 87 manual

    its just really bugging me cause i carnt get any window down and iv just got it back on the road after fitting the new motor.


  4. hay all finally got the 320 back on the road on saterday everything seems ok apart from the leaking manifold :banghead: and some wierd vibrating sound under load but no biggy.

    my problem is my power windows they were working fine went to a mates place puut them up and when i went to leave they wouldnt work at all doesnt matter what window or button is used.

    is this a common problem ? any ideas az to whats wrong iv checked the fuses under the bonnet they seem fine is there any more ?

  5. na cam belts mint haha and i was only doing about 40ks when this happend.

    i think the vavle must have been bent which jammed then cause it wouldnt move it snaped the rocker which caused the vavle to stay down and the piston just keep smashing into it.

    ooo yea 40ks and about 5800rpm lol :rolleyes:


  6. hay na im pulling it out az i snapped a rocker in the head and have got another motor lined up. the motor is now out and the enigne bay cleaned and had abit of a tidy up.

    im just thinking of doing the bushs while im doing all this work on it.

    where the best place to get a short shifter kit and a bush kit from and a rough price?


  7. hay cheers for the reply so its easier to pull the whole lot out? dam iv alredy undone everything and just bout to split the box off.

    couple more questions

    1 do i need the box out to put in new bushes?

    2 when it some to lifting the motor where the hell do i hook the chain to i carnt find any jitch pionts or hooks?

  8. hay all sorry if this has been covered somewhere before if so delete this post. my question is how many bolts are there on the e30 manaul gearbox housing holding it to the motor?

    iv got 3 19mm,2 on the starter and 3 little 8 mm star ones(1 of which i strip the head :S)

    im just in the process of pulling the motor out is there anything else i shold look out for?

  9. :banghead: after a slight mishap with my engine(one of my rockers broke in half) im now looking for a head or a set or rockers for the inlet side to a 2L 320i motor and what would it cost me? if any one has this in the lower north island im keen az.

    also what am i going to be paying to get a lumpy cam for one of these ?


  10. yeah im gona lower it properly lol its on kings at the mo but id like about an inch or two off the back and about an inch off the front.

    theres afew spots around the car that need touching up paint wise so i was thinking of painting the black sills while i was doing it.

    sparkle have you got a pic of the smoked indicator?

    bravo yea im not the biggest fan of crome but if i get this ones there only costing me $400 otherwise its out with the paint stripper and autosol lol and polish mine

    bem-on i know what you mean aye the right tools make a job so much easier and quicker.

    how hard is it to change from 2L to 2.5L? :mosh:


  11. yeah the seat is gay it came car when i got it same with the kerbs (dear i say it im looking at a cheap set of cromes for it) :unsure: (swaped it for my old mazda) the photo makes it look lower than it is im quite a fan of having my cars real low haha seems to be quite afew palmy people on hear.you might remember my old sliver/grey veilside mazda bfmr 323. so if anyone has a spare drivers seat in the area they'd like to get rid of lol.ooo running late better get ready for work yeah ill keep an eye out for everyone if i dont wave im not being a dick lol i just not sure if its someone from here.


  12. hay cheers for the reply all sorry yeah its a manual 5spd.na its an ex auckland car im really from danneverike ooo the shame but just say palmy az people know where that is lol the white one i think maby be tomos my friend is good mates with him theres spose to be afair bit done to it doesnt look like it tho. how hard is it to change to a 2.5 cause i might have a dereg'd 2.5 msport on the way like ecu wiring mounts do they just plug in play or is it a major? cheers for the help ill try add a pic see if it works.p.s i know its not that low lol im working on it

  13. hay everyone sorry if you've already got a whos who post i couldnt see it.just throught id let everyone know who i am so im not that random guy lol. names brian im from palmerston north i currently have a 87 320i(yes im a bmw virgin lol) among other cars it has the basic mods filter,exhust,loward,17's,sounds,etcwill try and get pics soon.just woundering is there much you can do to this car to get abit more go out of it ? and just any other bits a owner should know.cheers all seems a mint site so far.
