  1. just turn the boost down and dont tell them how to increase it until about 6 months later

haha yeah, even on 7 pound boost it still likes to get pretty crazy!!

Did you have any trouble with your plates? Where did you get them from?

No none yet. New Plymouth cops are pretty relaxed with most things, i guess cause the car doesnt look like a P O S they leave me alone.

Plates were ordered on the group buy on here thru Andy http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/33451-fs-custom-germaneuroplates/

I guess cause they look like the blue investment plate they look legit?

  2. Looking super nice mate, hopefully someone that will respect it will buy it.

Thanks yeah I hope so, it will be sad to see it go, especially if it gets written off straight away!!

    ;(...

Yeap... IRD forcing my hand unfortunately.....

  3. Just read your build thread - awesome!! And like the guys said there, great that you've managed to hold onto it through wedding, mortgage, kids etc. :) Well done ae....very koool, specially bit where its being used on school run - I'm sure it blends in nicely amongst the people-movers........ ;):)

Thanks, yeah it has been nice to be able to come back to it year after year. Ive been out cruzing lots, coffee runs mainly with the kids along for a cruze. Has also so been one or two incidences where the tail got a little nasty lose while out driving it alone ;)

out yesterday enjoying a cafe run....raised the front 5mm and lowered the rear 5mm, finally got that perfect stance i was looking for

  4. mmmmm sweeeeeett car!

What kind of beast gave its life for the skull?

yeah unsure. so random, fully just came across this in the ditch while taking the pic... thought it could look good in a picture. Probably a goat id say

trav good to see it out on the road instead of sitting in you driveway. joel

haha, yeah far to much driveway time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! even less under cover time, paints looking a bit lack luster.

you may see it out more now as the wife likes taking the kids to school in it, they love it. I just love the fact she likes driving it!!

  5. Awesome bro!

    That's mint... great work

Thanks, means alot coming from you guys who have obviously seen alot on these forums, cheers

looking at it a second time, come to realise how little love 4 doors actually get! that in itself is very cool

Yeah I agree, there is alot of love for coupes all over the world, but ive been a fan of the four door E30 since i was in my teens (two decades ago..... dam!!) Its honestly so good to see it come up this way and be finally happy with it after 12 years of ownership

  6. Looking bloody tough Travis! Should all go out for a photoshoot one day this summer. Loving the tunnel shot and (parked) sideways action on Mt Messenger! Perfect roads for that.

Yeah that would be good to get some pics for sure.

As for messenger, was a good drive alright, some of those corners are getting pretty chewed up tho, not much room for error either if you kicked it out a bit wrong, so was going cautious, last thing I wana do is stack it as soon as its been finished!

  7. "Not a photographer", posts epic photos. Haha damn - looks nice!!

Haha cheers.. yeah was stoked how they came out. Bit of tweaking on some of them on iphoto, makes anyone a genius

Very nice. Very clean. Where did you get your front lights from?

Got them many moons ago on ebay aussie new from a guy importing them.

Look awesome, have little functionality as high beam is a waste of time.

Its a 'daily' driver for sure

  8. Just an update on the BMW. Finally decided to finish finish it!!

The car has spent the last year three years in and out of the garage with really no progress except the race seats being fitted.

This last few weeks have seen repairs for the wof, and interior making its way back in.

I have bead blastered back the catch cans and painted them including the tappet cover bolts. RePolished the shiny bits in the boot and fitted my dash mat and glovebox etc

Will keep you updated on the further mods i have planned real soon

  10. Welcome poppasmurf. I hear ya mate, there are some corrupt 'so called' European agents in New Plymouth. From my own personal experiance of getting torn a new one ( avoid a certain subaru/european dealer on devon st) theres nothing worse than getting a sh*t job done and getting cheated out of your hard earned cash.

My advise for all BMW owners in Taranaki, take it to the guy at Pitstop on Leach Street. They are a South African couple who own it, he has done his whole trade on BMWs right from the e21s thru to the late 2000s in South Africa. He has all the gear and software and knows first hand all the weaknesses and flaws of each model with advise of things to keep an eye out for. He has been a wealth of knowledge for both my E46 touring and E30 sedan. I trusted him with my E46 for all repairs and servicing and hes open about costs and your best options. I could even supply my own parts if I thought it was going to be cheaper, he is pretty easy going and has a great parts supplier also. By far I would put my name to his service and skills and I dont even get a cut, haha.

    Welcome to the site too!!

    Will see you round

    Travis

  11. PRICE REDUCTION, Check second post below

I have had yet another change of heart with my car and have decided the buckets just dont reflect the age i feel (not the age i think I am) and have decided to revert back to a leather interior instead to tone it down to more of a cruiser.

Anyway... these are genuine Carbon Kevlar Autosport race seats, very comfortable as they have a slight flex feel to them which is nice. Very supportive etc. All set up for road use and I have fabricated them with universal mounts onto original E30 adjustable seat mounts so easy to adjust for various drivers. All bolts are High Tensile etc for cert purposes and have been used with factory belts.

These seats were racing approved but the time frame for compliance has lapsed, but can still be used for track days, street, drift, and targa events. (just not full blown motorsport org racing events)

The seats alone together weigh only 7kgs + the base mount. This was a huge reduction from the factory seats which I think were 37+ kgs if I remember correctly...

Will consider trade +cash difference for front and rear Leather seats (i will give you my back seat and black covers if required)

I will also trade + cash difference for the recaro type factory cloth seats that I can get reupholstered leather..

$1000 for both seats, mounts, bolts, and adjustable rails. Turn up, bolt in, drive off, ive done all the sh#t work!!!

Seats new were $3700 at the time of purchase. I got these second hand from a guy who raced a few times a year. I have done maybe 100kms in them total. They have no rips or signs of wear, they are dame near brand new, so a bargin.

Posted here on bimmersport to give you guys first option before I put them on trade me.

    Call me on 021399248

    Thanks Travis

  12. Yeah rebuilt in new body now, sr is running 360hp now but going in for another tune and upgrading software in ecu etc.

    hows yours going?

Yeah good, just got it back out of storage and sorting a few little issues for wof, brakes stuck on etc etc, so come next week will be legal and back out crusing. New rear platforms, carbon kevlar race seats, running mint as with 222kw @ the wheels with 428 Nm Torque. So pretty happy

  13. Thanks e30morgs, yes i always look at it and think of new things to do, but times the biggest restraint now.

Funny looking back at that first post tho, so not clued up on anything e30, not like now anyway.

Will have it almost finished this summer (said that a few time now over the years) so i will put decent photos up then
