  1. can someone tell me how or what to check to fix reverse lights which are intermittent in operation?

    And the fuel gauge is still sitting on full and not coming down. I always fill the tank right up at each refuelling and for some reason this time its stayed there.


  2. Hey guys, from the searching I've done it seems very common to snap rockers on these things.... I just brought a e30 PFL 325i, the first night I went for a drive I snapped number 3 exhaust rocker. Not happy!

    I know how to replace them, I'm just wondering where is the best place to buy a new set (I'd like to have this done so I don't have to do it again!) - Ideally stronger ones would be nice... And any idea at how much I should be looking to fork out to pay for these?

    What sort of revs did you have up to have that happen?

    I'm sure a guy that used to belong to bimmersport has designed one that is super strong, his name is Wayne Morine I understand that he makes them for the guys that need big revs on this engine. You might be able to ask "Mosen" in Hamilton he would be able to direct you to him. if he cannot get back to me and I will see if I can find him for you.


  3. Is it possible to take the tie rods off without damaging the tie rod rubber seal? I have a fork type tool to take the tie rod off but I can see that there is likely to be damage to the rubber seal.the tie rod was replaced about 1 year ago ans a stone or rock has split the steering boot and it looks like a complete steering arm off.any wise or easy shortcuts to this operation? a little help here would be muchly appreciated

I know that there are all sorts of reasons as to why the idle is high around 900rpm but there is something that I'm missing. the TPS is working OK I released the screws and I can hear it clicking and when the engine is running the engine speed increases and decreases but the decrease is only down to the 900rpm. I have listened and tried to look for air leaks but can hear none although I could have missed one if it was in a secluded place but nothing is obvious it idles static with no variation and returns to the 900 as it was supposed to.I adjusted the throttle stop to see if that made any difference but nothing there.Any thing else that I can look at would be a great help

Thanks guys will go for the boot one as I tried both doors.I have used that method on other BMW's and been successful but the keys for this car have the plastic holders broken and you can't turn the key round hard enough.I did get it to go past the normal stop but it was not enough or it is broken inside and not working.but the boot interior light is good for me as I don't have to get underneath.

Is there a simple way to get into a m535 1989 when the batt is dead flat Ive been told before but forgotten Ive tried the manual lock on the door where you turn it harder but it appears to be broken (maybe someone has tried before and broken whatever opens the door there) So need another way to get in to open the bonnet.The batt is not too old 6months ( the faulty memory seats have done the damage I think before I foolishly forgot to take the fuse out). so another way to charge it up easily Would be truly grateful


  7. Can someone here help?I've got a motorsport 535 1989.It has memory seats and they intermittently keep adjusting themselves. This can be quite annoying when driving along and the seat adjusts fully forward or moves to a very uncomfortable position.While sitting in the car at the supermarket with the car not running or turned to auxiliary it just decided to adjust itself again just the drivers seat not the passengers.Any ideas?

I would be very keen. but what did you have in mind for a rough outline of the event? this would probably have an impact on the numbers you get.Such as if there is a lot of drinking and partying for a group of enthusiasts you may get just the younger ones.But if you were thinking of all models some track stuff show and shine with category placings.Maybe inviting company's to have stalls beemer parts maybe boot sales. That would take more time to organize and plan than new year, maybe to late. Autumn might work but could be a rush.It all depends what type of meeting you were looking for. Bimmerflex has just had a big meeting in England recently these are getting really popular is that along the lines you were looking at or more the first type I mentioned .The latest"Performance BMW" mag sept, would give you an idea. your call

Hey that was a fantastic explanation, I now understand perfectly.I had intended to stay with the same calipers just move them out further onto a bigger disc.My thoughts were that the circumference is enlarged giving greater stopping power and as there was more room now. But I think that I will start with the stainless lines.And if anyone can direct me to the place to go that will be good and maybe the bigger brake option will have to die off.What started this was I saw that EBC had different size discs for the same car and I thought why was that?
