From what I can remember of a e30 I was a little worried about the brake peddle feel
-
That would be great if I can meet with you. Plans for the M10? I'm not sure as yet. It probably doesn't mean much due to all the other mods this car is getting but the engine number is the same as the chassis number.
-
If you part it out- I'm looking for the hose that goes from the gas filler to the gas tank.
-
And so this is what I have been left to work with for the install of the E36 front end
-
It seems a pitty, but this engine powered this car for nearly 4 decades I doubt if the M44 will do that
-
I also pulled out the steering column and peddle box. These probably won't be going back in either. Years before I got this car someone had removed the brake boosters. At this point I'm thinking about using a E30 peddle box and put the booster on left of the engine bay as in the E30. I just have to find one to look at and see if I can make it work.

Tonight I felt like I killed the car as I pulled out the M10 engine knowing it probably would ever be going back in. Now you see it

looking up at the old M10 engine and subframe
-
Looks like I may have that covered, apparently Link is going to be releasing a Ignition only ecu later this year. Also I might be able to lay my hands on a old LEM that was used on a bmw. I'm in Pukekohe on the 20th Feb if that works?

I think this is Dan? Drifit? anyway this E30's shows the GTR Elite guys how wide the track really is
-
I just looked it up, he had to do all the same things too My thinking with using the E36 front end is that I will be getting away from the steering box.
-
Mount sleeve coming up into the car- needs to cut back and welded. Plus some surface rust to attend to
-
I think the M44 looks good being twin cam and running on carbs will just set off. As for the subframe mounts I don't have many pictures but I will post up the couple I've got. Some are a little out of focus In all my searching on the net I could not find anyone who has done this, so I have gone into this a little blind.

The next step is to remove the engine and front subframe, so as to install the E36 front end. I have brought a 1.1 5th gearbox out of a E36 which I will pick up next time I'm in Auckland Engine??? Keep the M10 with the side drafts or install the M44 and put on the side drafts ( to keep the old school look) I'm kind of leaning more to the M44

The rear sub frame has been installed for the last time I hope. I notched out the sub frame to give the exhaust more clearance
-
The E36 sub frame was about 50mm wider than the 2002, and it needed to come forward 25mm. So I remounted the front bolts and gave the sub frame some clearance. I am getting some plates made that will go from this mount to the floor pan (some extra bracing)
-
I decided to use the e36 springs, so the 2002 spring mounts were cut off and new spring mounts were made along with some adjustable platforms.
-
On the 2002 the sway bar is mounted to the subframe and on the ti its mounted to the chassis. So the mounts were cut off the ti and welded to the 2002
-
Dummy fitting of the ti rear with mounts tacked in place
-
The Standard 2002 rear end and the replacement 318 rear- with disc brakes

Due the to the age of this car parts are getting scarce. I have wanted to change the diff for a long time but have not be able to source the ratio I what. So therefore a few months ago I brought a crashed E36 318 compact as a donor car. A week ago I started to change the rear subframe for the 318ti
