I have a set of the standard 16' rims, but the tyres arent much cop. Does anyone have any rims with tyres sitting about in their garage they want to get rid of? With or without the rims I dont care really. Dont even need to be the same rims I have, just want a standard set to flog with the car.

Fitting recommendations depend on where you are. Go into your profile and update your details so it appears on the left under your avatar. Thats 1-0 to you Glenn As for where, I imagine the cheapest would be from a wrecker, but do you really want to go second hand on a set of shocks, try the user SUSPENSION too. I believe he's a forum sponsor so you should see one of his banners on the main forum.

This is what I fancy, but a bit lower in the front and in black if I can get it

Well if thats the case I wouldnt buy anything else. We love ours and the wife prefers it to the touring !Its a couple of years old now and I wonder why she likes it so much, but a quick drive around town answers all the questions. Ours is a wagon and it gets the two of us (Im 6'5 and she is 6'), three kids in seats in the back and all the associated clobber in the boot no trouble at all. A friend of mine has just bought one aswell and she loves it.....perhaps its a girl thing !

An interesting question Marty so Ill do my best Put simply, I spent the best part of 18 monthslooking for a set of genuine 18' Alpinas. Once I found them I then waited six months before the price became reasonable only for Simon to hit the buy now a second before I got the chance too ! So now Im on the verge of selling the touring and an e34 is the most likely successor Im wondering if Im doing the right thing in selling the Alpinas aswell. Its highly unlikely I will get the car to the track but its not entirely out of the question however I would want any e34 I buy to be lowered, stiffened and sticking to the road. So my question really is do I keep the Alpinas on risk the 18' issues (they are e39 fitment too so I will need to use spacers) or do I sell them and buy a set of 17's specifically for the e34 ? Im also not to vain to admit that I love the 18' Alpinas and think a slightly lowered e34 looks the nuts on 18's. But I know all about the e32/e34 shimmy and I dont want to start with a set of wheels that may well be the cause of it.

Can a Ford Focus be considered NZ new ? Best car in its class for god knows how long, plenty of space inside and a cracking drive in manual 2l form. Autos arent that bad though and if you ask me that latest hatches look hot.

What exactly has been deleted? Nothing that I can see, one or two have made alterations to what theyve said which is fair enough, but nothing has been deleted.Try re-reading your first paragraph and tell me you werent havinf a serious vent, which is always emotion driven. If you dont like how we moderate here, take it up with Admin or find somewhere else to get your BMW fix.

Lets keep the slagging match off this thread please. Mike is entitled to his opinion, although the delivery couldve been a little more thoughtful, and deserves the benefit of the doubt in that his emotions have probably got the better of him at this time. Weve all needed a good rant at some time in the past and will all been guilty of having made a gross generalistions at some time, and theres another

Assmuning all the suspension bits and pieces have been replaced/tidied/stiffened what would be your preference for both driving and looks ? Im not interested in the 'style' of rim, only the size. Ive been reading quite contrasting experiences on various forums on rims sizes for the e34. Obviously its a big car and can take an 18' rim, but how does it affect (if at all) the ride? Opinions please.

Any pics with the roof down Paul ?

^^^^But if you listen to what he ACTUALLY said it would be a while before they considered any claim. One News FTL

In order to get compensation he has to be able to prove he was innocent of the crime, which is a whole new ball park to showing reasonable doubt of committing it.

Tractors dont count Grant.

The smart money was on a hung dury, but the Judges definition of 'reasonable doubt' left the door wide open for this result....very interesting.

Brent.... I think weve been here before Brent with your Alpina I appreciate it has low km's and all that but with 535's going for 3-4k, I couldnt justify another 5-6k for wheels, a front spoiler and some stripes. Come down to 6k and we can talk I imagine the 530d is going to be a little out of my budget. Forest.... Ive done my dash in 80's Ford's thanks mate. Nostra.... Touring looks the business but doesnt stir the blood enough for me. Palazzo.... I know nothing about Lancia other than knowing its going to have 80's Italian electronics !

Sorry mate, 6k is absolute tops, all done, finished, nothing more to spend, wife will have my kneecaps if I spend more.Wouldve been dead keen though

My understanding was there was nothing you could do for it once it started happening. Any attempt to resolder would just make it worse. Might have to do some more research on it.

e34's are just so cheap these days they are hard to go past at the moment. I havent seen a decent manual 535 for a while though so I may need an interim car. 2002 is probably a weekend car rather than a daily, my wife would love it though, she has always wanted one for herself ! But again are there any nice ones in my budget ? The last time I went out for a 205gti I came home with a 750iL, not at all what my wife was expecting, but what a car ! It doesnt have to be a BMW but they are what I know, a hot hatch is tempting and I had a turbo'd 406 in England and loved it. Nearly bought a 306xsi, but there is not a lot of space in one of those for me.

First off it has to be something I can 'drive'....I want some fun, I want a manual (although I will no doubt contradict myself later). I do minimal mileage during the week so I want to make it worth while. I also may at some point need to get a couple of kids in the back, but thats not what I want the car for. Budget is going to be 5-6k, not a lot but I reckon I can have a finished article for that. It can be something needing a little TLC, with new wheels, suspension, interior etc, or I could blow the lot on the finished article. Its going to be my daily driver too so it has to be something I can put up with over the winter. So what do I get? Im torn between the cracking good looks of an mtech kitted e28, the solidity of an mtech kitted e34 (especially with Brents red interior), the ooomph of an e32 750, the coolness of an e30 m325 or even an e30 318is, or the retro feel of an e23. I drove a friends e36 328 manual a while ago and thought it was great, needed a few minor tweaks but overall not bad, I just dont know if I can get used to the exterior as Im not a huge fan of the e36. If its an e30 then it cant have a sunroof (I need the headroom) and would have to be a coupe. Id love a kitted e28 m535 with polished BBS' but I doubt they are in my budget. Id quite enjoy an e34 black 535is, Brents red recaros, lowered with 17' Alpinas....but whats the chance of finding the Alpinas ? But there is nothing fitting the bill out there at the moment. So do I take an old 318 and wait until something comes up? It would need to be either black, lach silver or red. I dont want another light silver car there are too many of them. e34's just seem so cheap at the moment, e32's even more so but finding one thats been looked after could be tricky. m325's are probably just out of my budget and I havent seen a 318is available for a long time. So has anyone seen anything, know of anything thats not on trademe or autotrader ? [e] or do I find an e30 shell somewhere and stick a 328 into it
