  1. If you are going to pull the headliner out thats the hardest part done, it only takes a little bit of your weekend to do it. I retrimed my back speaker panel roof and pillers and it cost me under $70, just a bit of food for thought.

  2. buget not yet just wanting prices or other peoples rebuild prices. more info i can get the more it helps thats all.

engine has done its ks although i have rebuildt the head recently. just wouldnt last very long if it was turbo'd

  3. If your engine has been cooked, chuck a used one at your car & keep driving it. If you need a used one, there is a wrecker in TGA with a M50B25 for sale

the engine is still driveable but it has done high ks and is showing its age. If i was to turbo it im sure itl wouldnt last though the week. Whats the contact for the wrecker? cheers

  4. Hey guys well my engine has had it I think. Its time to find a new engine or rebuild the one I currently have. Im thinking about future plans on the bmw (turbo charging it ) if I went and rebuilt the engine what are cheap mods? Should I full rebuild it or just get new piston rings and hone the bore? How can I lower the compression without getting new pistons. Im going to run low boost not looking for something insane!! Would the standard engine handle 6-10psi? Can I use different conrods to lower compression? Also how do the injectors and fuel pump hold up factory, also whats the airflow meter like? Cheers any help would be most grateful.

  5. Most notciable mod's for mine were the exhaust (custom extractors) into 2 1/2" (maybe shoulda gone with 2 1/4" ) Custom intake, lightened flywheel ( unsure how much you can take off yours as it's the dual mass flywheel in e36, and lsd. I have a chip to put in it but I think that they run pretty good with stock ecu setting if everything else to sweet.

Other than that you'll have to start looking at aftermarket ecu (map tuning) aftermarket intake cam, get the head port and polished etc. Running the stock ecu holds you back if you want more noticable power as it needs all it's sensors to work and these sensors are restrictive

Who done the exhaust system how much did those extractors set you back? With the custom intake im just running a KnN pod filter with a heat shield and cold air feeder pipe from the bumper to it. Im not to sure what kind of flywheel is in it, so also unsure of how much to skim off it. Is your engine the non- vanos one to? Have you thought about lumping the cam sharfts anymore?

  6. Hey guys if you guys remember i had to rebuild the top end of my car due to head warping, that’s all done now!! thinking of needing more power!!! its manual it has a KnN pod and cold air shield. Now for every mod a good and neg thing happens right? I was thinking of, single exhaust off the exhaust manifold maybe a 2 or 2 ½ piping with cat delete. Also chipping, lsd, grinding the cams and lighting the flywheel. Also the adjustable suspension. Has anyone lighted the flywheel? If so how much have you taken off? Weighed my car which weighs 1420ish kgs. But that’s has twin sub box and 17inch 235mm wheels. Easy weight reductions? Anyone done the fan delete is it worth it? Whats peoples thoughts?

    Cheers

  7. yeah very true whenn my 325i was sick the dealer gave me a 318i to drive wow was it slow, and it being auto was boaring

id say dont bother buying a 316i or 318i e36.. not worth it even if they are manual.. you will be shifting all the time coz of the lack of power...for around the same price you can get atleast a 320i or 325i if your lucky.

with those you get a straight 6 150 hp, 190 hp engines.

  8. hey guys wondering if its worth doing this change? my m50 1992 325i engine has done the head gasket sadly, but i was wondering if i replaced it with a 1994 325i vanos engine i might be able to get my hands on. what kind of work is needed to do this? mine is also manual do the engines mount the same on the box? ill also have to change the loom and ecu right? also will it be worth this work or should i just do the head again on my car and carry on.
