  1. Alright, just got some updates.. recently got myself a set of the LED tail lights for my pre-facelift, and it indeed showed a bulb out warning... wondering what I could to do them now..
  2. Right, my car broken down on the motorway today, sudden loss of power and cannot rev above 2000rpm, and engine stalls. Got it towed to the shop and its the MAF sensor and the camshaft position sensor.. I was quoted 850 dollars for the MAF sensor (which is aftermarket, BMW ones cost 1100 apparently), and around 320 for the camshaft position sensor. I was wondering if I could get one of those EBAY MAF sensor for around $65 US do the job? I don't see the difference if the 850 part is going to be aftermarket as well.. e.g. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-Mass-Ai...3A1%7C72%3A1171
  3. any body else with more dyno charts to show? B)
  4. any difference in sound? sound clips
  5. so what exactly happens for the many e46fanatic members that install headers on their car? as far as i know, their cats reside in their headers, and as such, many of them run catless, or aftermarket cats. Most of them do have a CEL light, some may try to use spark plug non-foulers or software to solve the CEL... but regardless of cats or not, they were still able to dyno and increase in power... if it was damaging the car, and the computer was in fact responding to the readings of the post-cat sensors, shouldn't they see a reduce in power rather than an increase??? hmm... this also fascinates me, for most of my time I have only been reading information about US spec cars, but not our EURO spec cars... I was told that we have 4 cats?? 2 in the headers, and 2 in the exhaust, and it was fine to pull the two in the exhaust..
  6. Is it true that american e46s have their cats in their headers? and our european spec ones don't?
  7. I think the coupe's doesnt have the middle LED missing? I might take the plunge and have a set ship from US and see how it goes...
  8. Does anyone have experience with the ones that forum sponsors sell in e46fanatics? Do they work with out cars or do they throw bulb out warnings? I talked to Khoa and he seems to think US spec lights work on Euro spec cars but not vice versa... Anyone wants to chim in?
  9. so anynews for the e46 330 engine?
  10. what about for an e46? does removing the cat provide any power?
  11. care to share? well actually, I kinda have first hand experience, my oldman was a car importer and he just recently imported 3 e46 330s into New Zealand, one from japan, and two from singapore. The reason why people say that cars from singapore should be advoided is because they do not have a as "well established" 2nd hand car system as compared to japan. generally in japan from big auctions like USS auto auction, all the cars have been checked thoroughly and properly graded, but even so it could still be a hit or miss, oldman imported a 2002 e46 white 330i from japan last september, it was a grade 4.5 car, but turned out that there were damages under the car and thus couldnt get complied. But back to the singapore cars, since theres not a established system to check the cars, you could be buying anything, i.e. the odometer could've been changed back, or it couldve been an accident car. One of the 330 from singapore we imported had to get an engineer's cert. since one of the doors have been bumped into and the compliance centre found out when they took the car apart for compliancing. but i guess thats with buying any 2nd hand vehicles, unless your there urself to check everything out, theres always a probablity that these kind of things happen.
  12. hey guys, I got in touch with Terri from Al's Muffler, and he seems to have a good idea of what he is doing. Quoting what he said "We suggest a tri Y set as space is limited and tuning of them is almost eqaul lenght due to the space factor and the firing order that is specified for the motor. The price is between $900 and $1100 depending on where you want your power band and torque increase." Seems a pretty good deal to me, seeing how it's all "customized". Any one have any experience in dealing with them?
