Struggled all day to get the thing started, ended up just giving up and drinking some beers and falling asleep. Some crappy pics I found though, note the pimp steering wheel and crap everywhere. Last pic is the seats I acquired today. Bloody comfortable too

Ahh, ok I was connecting it to the 13mm one and it was just spinning as you described. Will try connecting it to the smaller one tommorow and see if it cranks. If not- does it mean the starter is buggered? How would I bypass that? Mike explained something to me about bypassing the relay before the starter?

Very unfortunate. Was watching some of it also, but missed this.

Ok, so I have spent ALL day trying to get this thing going. Checked all the wires under the steering wheel where the alarm module was and they all look fine, all matched to corresponding colour etc. Checked all fuses, some were blowen-replaced and still nothing. Tried jump starting it. Nothing Tried rope starting it.Nothing. It has fuel and the battery is fine. So... I tried just jumping the starter motor- Rangi? Anyway, the starter would turn but the car wouldn't crank. I'm guessing that the solenoid in the starter may be stuffed and not throwing the doodah onto the whatsit. You all know what I mean. Tried bashing it etc and did nothing. Should the starter crank if you jump it? By jump I mean ground one wire from another battery and connect the +ve lead to the +v3 terminal on the starter motor. It was spinning, but no crankage. If not, then am I right in assuming that the starter is buggered? It was working fine before I pulled the motor out.

Had same problem on my first E30. Starter motor was stuffed.

Just make some (or get some made). Look on Nath's (Forrest) thread,there are some good pics of his setup. text me about coming over tommorow to get the steering wheel

Actually no- it spent 4 years on the front of a lawn, never got washed... cant really tell from those pics but Ill try find some more. And all four hoses were blocked haha.

Just on a side note. Anyone seen Alphabethead play live? F**ken awesome.

Nah they were mint! Was expecting it to be similar to yours, even the panel itself was sweet.

Will do in a month or so when funds allow. The cradle was defintly the hardest part of the whole thing, bar the dash... not really looking foward to trying to re-fit the dash...

Cheers fullas. What has everyone done done RE: painting the inside? Should I paint the inside before getting the cage done and then do the cage after? I can see some of the spots are going to be a PITA to get at even with no cage there.

All the normal lights come on. Will spend a couple hours on it tonight with a multimeter and see where I get.

Rope start didnt help, didn't think it would...

It's a damn good setup. I've got a 600 and it does the trick for me.
