There are atleast 3 other E36 rotaries that I know of in auckland alone.

Damnit, my grinder is too crusty and wont reach, will have to buy one tommorow. And the neighbours were all complaining. How do I get that goop out that is sandwhiched between the roof and sunroof cradle? I cant see how I am going to get a stanley knoife in there

Pics of the carbon fibre?

Sweet! in 20 odd years we can all own E92s at the price of a 320 auto these days.
-
I had a 520i with 210 ks on it. Drove sweet as,only problem I had were the electric windows crapping out every now and then. Got me from rotorua to Auckland for $20 from empty and that involved some fairly spirited driving. Features on them are freakin cool!

So I cut the tack welds, thats sweet. Then the bit where the sunroof sits when its shut just cut out aswell? Leave enough of a lip to sit the sunroof back in and bobs your uncle?
-
Just about finished stripping the interior, just got the sunroof to do now. How would one go about removing it? I mean the whole unit-motor and frame everything. I have removed all the screws from the top bracket thing but there doesnt look to be an easy way of pulling it off with the rails etc. Do I just cut the tack welds that hold the frame up and pull the whole unit out as one? The panel is going to be replaced with perspex and glued in so dont need it. Car is facelift 325i and has electric adjustment. Cheers Ashkan

I was going to, but then it was all glued whorily by previous owner and it was soaking wet and useless to anyone else. So I just ripped it all out and cut what I couldnt access easily. It wouldnt be a hard job though,if you do it systematcilly( Like I started to) it would be easy as. Just time consuming.

Yeah had the seat up and could get access to them in the end (with some persuasion-sp) but couldnt get any tools to fit over the hex-as described above. Cheers though, now for the carpet

Yeah mine was the same, would only come up after around 100k but it was pretty violent aye haha. Can you get 10mm in hubcentric?
-
If Nath doesn't take them I could be keen.

I've got the whole unit here that I'm jsut about to pull out. Can have it for a doz summits. I dont know if it works though-don't have a battery in the car to try.
-
Sussed, cheers graham- the factory tools still didnt quite fit, so I ground down the edges and it worked a treat.
-
Looking good bro. Think you might have a bit of trouble getting them front wheels balanced if you are still rocking them slip on spacers, well I did anyway. Should hit silverdale and whangaparoa when your done eh
-
^^Yeah, didn't think I was retarded (well heaps retarded). It is an SA and correctus, cant fit a ring spanner in there at all. Will give it a go in the morning and see what happens.

After a E30 factory rubber rear boot spoiler. Reaaaaaly cheap would be good, I remember giving 2 away so I'm hoping they are still worth nothing. Just need to cover up some holes in a boot till I can be bothered welding the holes up Cheers Ashkan

Really basic- so I thought. Is there a special trick to taking E30 front seats out? Normally I just slide the seat hard foward to access the back 2 bolts and vice versa for the front? Tried doing this today and the fronts are allright, but the rears are being ghey. Even with the seat all the way foward I cant get to rear bolts. Dont really want to take the seats off the rails if I can help it. They are factory black leather seats. E30 facelift sedan. Cheers Ashkan
