no there not fouled up there brand new they are less than 30ks oldcould the timing be out? causing the spark plugs to foul up?
maybe the spark plugs are playing up?
just some idea's

You don't need to remove intake to get starter out either. Can be done with it in.
Get yourself new gaskets and o-rings. The gaskets can only be used once - Once compressed they won't seal properlly again.
ive done wat you said got my self a new gasket but hasnt't arrived yet , but since then i took the car home from the mechanic and it was running on all cylinders then all of a sudden one of them stopped working and now it sounds like a 5 cyl honda im guessing its an ecectrical prob , what do you think , as you seem to have good knowledge on e30s,
can i have the injector leads muddled up would that cause it
cheers shane

the warning light on the dash next to the park light that is a circle with three small marks either side is on all the time
what does this mean
thanks shane
-
You shouldn't have to remove intake manifold to get the fuel rail out.
But yeah you definitley have a vacuum leak somewhere. Did you put new injector o-rings when you put them back in?? New intake manifold gaskets? no cracks in the intake boot?
No, those coolant lines don't effect it.
took the manifold off to get the starter off as well no i didn't change gasket or o rings they were in good order nothing broken or cracked or perished
-
hi guys
my e30 325 is having real problems keeping idle have had the intake manifold off to get the injectors serviced
now that is back together the car is very poor idle only just ticks over, and when i accelarate and change gears or at idle and or give it gas the revs are very slow to return this must be an air leak but ive come up with nothing
the coolant tube from the bottom of the thermastat to the throttle body and the one from the block to the throttle body if they were back to front would that cause the problem i have
cheers for any help

cheers for helpEither drop steering rack, Lift engine as much as you can and slide it out. This way you have to drop the oil pump into the pan to slide it out.
or else drop subframe, steering etc, hoist engine up and yeah much easier this way, less cursing lol.

i think its the cross member and p/s unit just tryng to keep the mechanics bill downIt's not that much of a biggie to remove the sump on an e30 is it?
can some one confirm this
-
would it be better if i got a magnetic oil sump plug and let that try and pic up the lost nut before i try and remove the sumpok thanks ill do some homework on wats required to remove the sump and i guess a new gasket is needed to
-
ok cheers bravoUse gasket goo. No gasket required. Do a a search for which one to use.
-
ok thanks ill do some homework on wats required to remove the sump and i guess a new gasket is needed toit goes into the block, and I would highly recommend you drop your sump out and fish it out.
-
hey guys im in middle of doing a new head gasket, water pump, and servicing the starter motor
i have taken the inlet manifold off and the breather pipe that goes from the bottom of the intake and attaches to the block which has a coiled spring on it has been removed and dropped one of the intake nuts down there where does this hole lead to and will the nut cause me any problems , hope this makes some sense
cheers shane

hi everyone,
what is the best way to get the starter motor out from top or undrneath
and where can i get some replacement brushes for it cos it wont work unless you hit it with the broom handle and turning the key at the same time
thanks shane
