It's sad isn't it. But I really believe he would've wanted to go out like that, he's the kind of guy that would nose dive a plane into the ground before risking growing old. Seriously, if you don't service them every 5000 km's they blow up, it's amusing watching friends go through multiple engines after their warrantys have expired.
