  1. Fully agree!

I like to keep it looking OEM but still like to upgrade speakers, I-pod/usb connectivity etc. Sub also needed, 5.25 speakers just too small for doof-doof, and they play louder/clearer if you arent trying to make them play lower frequencies.

But back OT - I looked at a car with rough idle, it had 'lumpy cams.' sure....

  2. my 2c...

All know stories of bludgers. one of my old neighbours sold "alternative medication" and claimed the dole. Never worked a day in his life. classic oxygen theif.

The paper had a small section trying to sympasize with a design graduate who was one the dole because he couldnt get the job that used his degree. The way I read it was that because he couldnt get a job he wanted he was going to sit on his arse. Jobs are out there, just may not be what you want to do. 4 friends recently moved back from OE's. No real qualifications but all have managed to find work once they actually started looking.

Child support is another thing that winds me up. I'd have no problem paying the money if I had children from an old relationship but I certainly like to know it was all going on the child and to have a say on where it went. (Correct me if this isn't the case already)

  3. nice, looks very similar to mine. Very easy to misbehave with DSC off. Open diff is still a kill joy though. Is it full M-package with seats, suspension etc?

mind PM'ing me what you paid, and milage, age etc?

  4. That red 330i is the mutts nuts but an e39 540i is so much better value for money - faster and bigger and more toys. I know I'd prefer to have some money in the bank, or save myself from going into debt.

I'd also happily go back to a tidy E30 for a DD. Fast cars are a waste around town and just make it more tempting to misbehave.

  5. Yup he mentioned this one to me for a sd card based system, Plug and play in place of the cd changer.

    >>Clicky me<<

thats what I've got in my e39. still working through some issues with the ID3 tags on the jap radio and nav units, would probably be fine on a NZ new car. I thought about Dice or intravee but didnt want to bother with ipods.

    theres also this device

$250+gst NZD - havent used this though

  6. Some tyres are fatter than others (rim protectors etc), are they going to police each differing brand under a differing standard?

excatly, and road legal slicks are different again.

Maybe the reg's wont be as though as what westy posted, might be geting excited over nothing (for those running sensible widths)

Haha I feel so out of touch running 265's on my 9"!!

Sure doesn't look like compliance will be an issue for me! :D

ha does that mean my 255's are stretched on 9's?

  7. whats the reasons behind the change? Have there been cases where stretched tyres have caused accidents? I would have though as long as the tyre isnt stretched passed the manufactures recomendations. eg toyo allow 225/40R16 on a 9" rim. 215/40R16 however is only allowed on a 8.5" rim.

  8. late model cars today most of which have ABS, Multiple airbags, crumple zones e.t.c. e.t.c...

I know what you're saying but there are still plenty of older cars that dont. And the other arguement is that the the road toll is still quite high, and hasn't dropped significantly enough where they would even consider raising the speed limit.

  9. As the title says the hoses are quite brittle and have started to crack for the windscreen washer jets. I've looked around a few hardware stores and found hoses that will do the job but no luck with suitable joiners. I called BMW and they'll only sell me the whole lot (hoses + joiners for silly money), same with aftermarket suppliers.

Anybody been replaced these before, if so where did you find the joiners?

I might try wreckers as last resort but would rather get new as second hand is likley to be just as brittle

    Cheers
