When did Porsche become part of the VW group? Porsche introduced the 'Tiptronic' thing with the 964 series 911s in, i think, 1989? Cleaver marketing way of making soft cocks feel like they own a real sports car. Actually I do like autos though, they have their place.

How old are you???

LOL, who cares about the tail lights - look at those GUARDS  -
Whats the reasoning behind that??The 323i (now Glenns) was easier to hang out round left handers, dunno why.
-
No, it is because Glenn is a brake whore, there was nothing wrong with the old setup. I give the new setup 6 months max (from today, so prolly around 3 weeks of actual drive time) before it is upgraded.Actually, don't tell anyone, but I heard him muttering about leading 6pot calipers and trailing 4 pots on 355mm X5 discs for the front

Dayum I'd also forgotten what a clean car looks like!! must clean it this weekend then. Poor thing. 18s work fine on E34, Paul don't listen to anything the Americans or British say, they seem to like a very cushy ride..... mine has the 18s, Konis and Eibachs and rides really well.

Bravo is right, fuel cells produce electricity by chemical reaction which then power an electric motor, no combustion is involved. The BMW engine is a combustion engine that burns hydrogen instead of petrol, pure hydrogen is stored on board (think of it like CNG say) no fuel cells are involved.

Jacques Villeneuve isn't to bad behind the wheel... pity that with the modern F1 cars he can't drive with the spectacular style of his old man.
-
There's a lot more procedures and rules to follow in rallying but I don't think that actually getting the license is any harder??Ask Glenn he did them both last night!!!!
-
P.S I don't think anyone needs to worry about being beaten by Glenn, he is unable to keep the car driveable for more than 20mins before it "needs" another upgrade.

Sway bars won't do anything for straight line stability (arguably they could upset it more as if one wheel hits a bump it will force the other up aswell and add a pitching motion to the car...) Sounds like you need a nice big rear wing then Carl. And then more power to push it through the air. And then more power just for fun. Muuuuwwwaahhhhhh

Yes check the wires out of the probe, thats where my problem was, seems to be quite common.....

E32's don't comply with the frontal impact rules regardless of weather they have airbags or not. Same for E30's and E34's.

Yeah it took me a while to stop driving like I was on tarmac, the driving style is completely different. Learning that alone made the course worht it's weight in gold, I would have arrived at my first event and gone about it completely the wrong way!! Dale was talking about having a "stage" that people could use for testing (not open to the public of course and for a fee) which would be great, currently the only way for people like me to get practice is to do events. I've got a Honda Civic SiR with cage, raised suspension (not what you normally do to a Civic....) etc. It's basically the same as the MIVEC Mirage they use. I had it before I did the rally school but doing the rally school reinforced that that was what I wanted to do.

Ahh those pics bring back memories I've got a gravel sprint at the end of the month and now I really can't wait!! :bounce: Did you find it unnerving when the instructor would be saying "faster faster" but your mind is saying "No BRAKE BRAKE" Also did you hear anything about them opening a test road for people to use?? it was being talked about when I was there last year.

The factory amp should be behind the guard lining on the passanger side of the boot, mounted vertically to the inner guard (not the floor) I wouldn't bother using any of the existing wiring to the amp (with the exception of the speaker wires) I ran RCAs (along with the remote turn on wire) up the centre of the car under the centre console and carpet. If you run the RCAs along the factory path you can get interference problems. The battery is mounted under the back seat so it's easy to run a power wire direct from it to the amp. Also I didn't reuse the factory amp location and instead mounted it underneath the parcel tray (mainly cause it didn't really fit any where else...) I reused the factory speaker wires as I didn't really want to run new ones around the car and they seem capable of doing what I want (which isn't really much just an improvement over stock, not a mAd ShOW system or anything) As for speakers I put 6.5 components in the front, using the original tweeter mounts in the doors. The back speakers are standard but aren't really used at all any more. I'd like to put a small sub in at some distant point in the future. Hope thats somewhat helpful!

Errr Vent did you buy it?? and are you the Vent from NZHondas who used to drive a Prelude and then a Skyline???

As long as the power gain is larger than the power taken to drive the supercharger that is a pretty mute point.... A positive displacement type SC should produce boost right from idle, a centrifugal type SC will have a similar boost curve to a turbo. I would prefer a turbo for my car mainly because they're easier to install (i.e it doesn't have to be inline with the crank pully) and the for the easy adjustabilty you get, if you want more or less boost its easy you just turn a knob, with a SC its more work.... Plus you gotta love the rush of torque you get as the boost builds As for twin charging, HKS have produced a number of kits for superchagred Toyota engines over the years (4A-GZE and 1G-GZE) can't say how well they worked but I can't imagine HKS producing something that was totally useless. Lancia also used twin charging on the Delta S4 Group B rally car to good effect.

Then you don't fit the "I like everything BS category" because you further defined and gave informed opinons on what you like.Realistically I think most people like a bit of everything from all genres, and if you don't then you probably just haven't listened to alot of music (or don't care??) but to say they like everything without definition or base I find a little rich. For example I'm a big White Stripes fan who are very much a blues type band, but I wouldn't blanketly say I like blues.... if you get what I mean.

Agreed (oh shite, does that make me a Sheep?? I think it must!!! baaaaaa) Also I like it when people say they like everything from classical to jazz to metal - BS!!!!!!!! no you don't, just say "oh I'm not really into music that much, but I do like that new song by whats his name" at least your being honest, not everyone has to be a music fanatic. For those that say eminem is pop try listening to, for example, "Kim" from The Marshall Mathers LP, and then say he's pop, sorry but you won't be able to. Yes he does have moments of incredibly cheesy pop but thats only to lull peeps into a fulse sense of security and to create warm fuzzy feelings about him so he can turn round and stick his middle finger in the air right back at you. Come on he ain't being serious, like say Justin :puke: Timberlake is all serious with his chessy sellout pop, Yeah go Marshall!! OK I'm done now. Sam (who would like to be a gansta rapper but is to skinny and to white and way to much of a pussy, and BTW, doesn't claim to be a music fanatic)

Are you actually having overheating problems??? if you are it would suggest you have problems somewhere, it shouldn't overheat if the cooling system etc is working properly.... Plus aircon is so nice to have.
-
You reckon???The cars up on stands already...... we have no motorsport commitments this weekend........ mmmmmm V160......... your gonna have to change the drive shaft when the custom fabricated rear end goes in, so you may as well change the front yolk as well..... Sounds like good timing to me.

Carl I'm impressed, not bad for a 320
