  1. Yeh if money was not an issue for sure i would have run with conrads parts they look alot better and would last longer. but for entry level racing i cant just justify the expense ive already spent enough on bodywork lol
  2. Not too bad, just very messy and time consuming. I prepped everything as best i could before glassing to make it as easy as possible. The heat is the real killer though its making the resin set really quickly so having to do it in small batches to prevent wasting too much resin
  3. http://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac---e30-m3-front-splitter-sport-evo--evo-iii--carbon-version-p1994.aspx?Thread=True Can get similar from the usa. These guys are significantly cheaper too..
  4. As much as id love to buy a front bumper from him i dont have 2600 to throw at it. Although that carbon spoiler and front lip are tempting
  5. I had a look but couldnt find this ony any other posts.. Anyone know what the best offset for 17x9 wheels would be to suit e36 hubs on an e30? Mine has a fair bit of guard overhang in the rear that needs to be solved... Preferably around the 8.5+ wide in the rear im after from my measurements 10" is max width that will fit and not looking for 18" as i actually want a tyre on my rims rather than a rubber band lol (current wheels are 16x7 et35 i think) also has m3 evo3 guards... Thanks in advance...
  6. It doesnt look like today has had much progress but i have aligned the boot to the rear window surround which is harder than it sounds when bonnet pins are involved. Fibreglassed, sanded, fibreglassed, sanded filled and sanded again the rear guard and made up some brackets and trimmed the side skirts to make them fit. Oh and sanded some more...
  7. Thanks its been hard work getting the fg panels to fit properly but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel now so getting excited
  8. Here is the twist. Note the angle of the foglight hole and the contour next to the lip (the lip is straight/parallel with bumper bar). I found a company in uk that makes evo3 front bumpers for £260 so will buy a replacement bumper from them at a later date
  9. Here is the gap ads. It will catch an awful lot of gravel if you go down this track
  10. No i cut the front out as it was quite severely twisted from mikeshaw having a faulty mould and yes it has the screw holes in front bumper lip and rear spoiler
  11. So half the day done and ive fibreglassed on half of my roof panel and taped on the sideskirts to make mounting brackets for them as they dont quite line up with the factory holes etc and im not too keen to drill even more holes in the sills :S also riveted the alloy bars to my lexan rear windows ready for install when the window surround is finished
  12. Its a full evo 3 kit im just missing the rear spoiler extension as will get a carbon fibre one to match the carbon roof. black and white both played out yes but they just look so dam sexy black or white. white car, black mags, carbon trimmings and a carbon roof, black mirrors and bonnet vents etc was my original plan but now looking for something a bit more unique so yes satin estoril blue may be the go...
  13. So last post for today i have sanded the top surface of the rear guard and glued on the rear window surround ready for fibreglassing on tomorrow. alot more sanding and tidying up then sideskirts will go on.
  14. No point flogging a dead horse. M10 is too old technology and performance parts are becoming too pricey. I did look at that option but decided against it.
  15. Yeh was playing with colours and was thinking either satin black, alpine white or estoril blue from the e90 m3.. could still go either way though...
  16. Lol yeh an S14 would go very well in here but wayy over budget! Here is todays progress so far.. almost finished fibreglassing on the last rear guard. and while th fg was drying i installed vtec rocker cover for that extra 15Hp
  17. Thanks frederic its been a long time getting to this stage and the pics dont really do it justice of excactly how many hours have been poured into it.. will definately be worth it when its finished esp now i have finally chosen an engine to replace the m10 with. But for now that will remain a secret
  18. No not yet still looking into cost effectivness of buying a 'roof cap' from us or uk for approx 1000 landed or moulding a roof anaking a carbonfibre plug. I spose i could the sell a few plugs to make some $$ back. Though its just the hassle of getting it done and no guarentee of quality if i do it myself..
  19. And finally where im at today is installing fuel hoses and surge tank using teflon braided hoses and two bosch 044 fuel pumps. 8AN supply and 6AN return which should be enough to support about 400hp from a v8 with ease if i take that route. Battery wont be staying there either its going to be a gell/dry cell and laying down/flat mounted to the rear seat base to keep the weight low. also to reduce centre of gravity i am installing cryolon (same as lexan but half the price) windows. Possibly fibreglass doors later on too.
  20. Brakes all finished and consol completed for now. installed jump start post and battery cable from e36 to move the battery to the boot and make jumpstarting/ charging easier. Started fibreglassing rear guards on. pics arnt in order as i had to re glass the left rear guard as it was slightly crooked :s
  21. I dropped the steering colum down about 25mm, made a fibreglass fill in panel for the centre consol and installed ignition switch wilwood bias adjuster and kill switch. Wilwood pedal box and master cylinders installed. new solid brake hoses made up to accomodate the new pedal box and hydraulic handbrake.
  22. Wiring loom behind dash was tidied and dash re installed. Painted dash bezel blue to match wheel and cage and painted the headlight rings with what i had left.
  23. Well so far including all the 5 stud swap brake upgrade (e36 328 rotors and callipers hawk pads) rollcage and bodywork the car owes me approx $7k in parts. And i havnt started on engine yet as ive not 100% decided if i will go m62b44 or m54b30 so all told also allowing 3k for paint it will be prob around $25k parts. All labour apart from welding the cage was done by me and all thats left minus paint will be me too Here is the roll cage and the interior was painted matte black to reduce glare a little.
