0 for the fronts and ~20 for the rear Was gonna get a set, but decided to bury the money elsewhere
Is your signature pic your current height?
Yeah was going to have it somewhere around that offset, and yeah hows that?
What wheels suspension setup are you running?
-
I think that's what you meant Andy
Jamex superlows and shorten your shocks, cheapest option IMO. Are you going custom offset with those Varrstoens?
Maybe +15 for the 9s and not sure about the 8s? what you reckon?
at the moment i have lowering springs and yeah have heard that shortening shock was a option but was just trying to get peoples opinions.
-
what part of nz are you in mate?
if your in christchurch i can probably help you out, easy job if you have the gear.
i assume your planning on getting some lower springs than your currently running?
otherwise shortening the struts is a bit pointless because you'll just wind up with more spring preload and a car that isnt any lower. shortening struts is really a way of keeping springs captive not lowering ride height.
like everyone else said, there are several cheap coilover options for e30s on trademe, definitely the easy way out if you want to spend the money.
Southland, well Central Otago at the moment but yeah i am planning on buying a set of 16x8/9s for my car
These :
If i do get them i dont think it will be low enough for the way i want it to sit, if you get what i mean? and yeah i have looked at coilovers on trademe, around $2000 after cert i guess.
But yeah guess if you want it to sit nice then coilovers are the best Option
-
You will have to have that certified, so my 5cents is to get adjustible suspension if its in your pricerange, otherwise deal with the height
yeah most adjustable suspension setups are roughly around $1500, if i am correct?

Hey guys, Does anyone know how or where I could get Shortened struts for my E30?
as i was planning on lowering it a little more.
Its currently got Lowering springs in it with standard struts at the moment
Cheers

I am planning on purchasing a set of 16x8/9 wheels for my e30 and i was wondering what would be the best offset for them, i no a bit about offset but no guru haha.
Would lower offset be better to have it sitting flush?
thanks

Could you text me on 0278240170?

So the other day I managed to completely blow my diff in my 320i so was curious to see if anyone had a Small or medium case diif that i could buy?
Also if anyone has any advice on e30 diffs in reference to small or medium case if they both bolt straight in or not?

The wheels you linked to are 15" ?
Heaps of guys on here are running 15's and they look very cool especially in the 8"
Just would rather 16x8s, and yeah there isnt much around in 4 x 100
If anyone has any they want to sell PM me
-
And yeah guess it isnt a wise idea, also saves the hassle of getting cert for them to + another $400 :/
But yeah not having much luck finding a set of wheels in 16" as i reckon 15" would look to small on my car
-
Just buy a set of our RS reps
I would have a set by now, but you guys dont make them in 16" ? unfortunately
-
I have been looking at buying a set of wheels, and I went to try them on tonight as they guy did not not no the stud pattern and they were 4 x 114.3 so they did not FIT! lol
These are the wheels, they are pretty good for the price so was pretty keen on them so started thinking about adaptors.
So i was wondering if anyone has ran adaptors and what they are like e.t.c?
These are the wheels if anyone was curious. .
-
Far too soft for low heights and they're likely to coil bind on big bumps.
What would be a better alternative?
-
Looks allgood, and What is so bad about compressed springs? have you had them previously?
-
Koni do a shorter standard shock.
I have the full size ones and (king springs) 30mm lower, and that's fine.
It's actually piss easy to do shocks and springs on an E30. Any GOOD Mechanic should be able to I'd say, or somewhere like Autolign.
E30 Race Series cars use Konis and some form of King Springs, so they aren't bad.
Wouldn't piss around with Compressed springs myself...
Yeah i have looked around and compressed springs seem like the best thing to do as can get lowered to desired height, without getting coilovers lol
Do you have any pictures of the car with the king springs in?

I am Currently looking for a set of Shortened shocks and compressed springs for a 1989 BMW E30 320i

Advice is much appreciated

Hey guys
I am currently on the look out for a set of 16x8s 4x100 preferably basket weaves similiar to these
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=461112899
Only problem with those is that they are 15" which i think would be to small for my E30
Thought i would just post on here to see if anyone has any 16x8s or around that
Any advice or suggestions are appreciated
Thanks

Yeah it would be better to put coilovers in it, I had a look on some other forums and seems like it would make a whole of difference to the "look" and the "ride" of the car if i put adjusties in instead of Super low springs.
Whats everyone's opinions on Coilovers?
XYZ?

get some nice stretched look tyres probably 195 50s or with an 8 inch rim 205 50's
with that offest you wont need spacers and that also depends on how low you're going to go?
if you're gonna go real low skip the spacers if not then you could pump the wheels out slightly but imo you wont need to
hope this helps
Yeah would love to but some adjusties for it to get it sitting flush but am planning on getting some super low springs
Had these in mind. . . but not quite sure yet

Dont really no anyone that has put them in so if anyone has had them in there e30 please comment

Fair enough, it looks low in that picture but it rides nicer than the springs that where in it so i am happy with them lol
and yeah that was the plan, it is a bit of a guess on what they'll look like in a way as i have not come across anyone running those wheels with that set-up, it will be interesting as but i have looked into different wheel set-ups and 16x8 and 9s appeals to me the most really
