^ Where did you get the refurb kit?

Chinese seller on eBay. Even came with a clever little tool for removing the filter. I did all 12 previously on the 8er so I've got pertty quick. Took me 15-20 minutes to do six.

The kit has enough for 4 more injectors which you're welcome to but guessing you need two more sets!

  2. I didn't but I'm sure you could. My wife met the editor at a Holden event and told her about my car. The photographer said he often leaves a business card on the windscreen of 'interesting' cars.

I think they get most subjects by way of referral.

  3. Found a reasonable set of m pars from an e38 and had the idea of making a set of 8"s for the wagon and staggered 9/9.5s for the 8er. Sadly offset is a touch aggressive for the wagon. Shame, because they'd look awesome!!

Could probably make it work with camber and smaller tyres but then becomes expensive and possibly a bit too 'stance' for me.

Springs haven't settled in pic so it's lower than it looks.

Missed my point. And I also have a little IT experience, specifically in managing large internet teams and properties. That gives me the experience to know good practice from bad. No BS or malice in my comments above, I stand my them.

I get the strong impression you have never worked with a team of volunteers though, Dave. You've only got a soapbox because those guys keep it up and running in their own time and without any remuneration. Yes, they may not please everyone all the time but they want to make it work as well as they can for everyone and as such, are open to feedback, but you can present your feedback with a bit more consideration, I'm sure!

Now I'll get off my soapbox.

    PS Change is good.

  5. The central locking will work if you use the key, even if the driver's door actuator is broken. However, if any of the other locks don't respond to the key or remote, then the actuators are faulty. I understood from your original post that you could get all the locks to function correctly from the unlock button in the car. This would suggest that the actuators are working but something else is wrong.

If it is actuators, they're not as hard to replace as it looks - just a bit fiddly - I've just done driver's door and rear passenger on my e36 wagon.

  6. As always, Ray and HellBM are awesome. Viscous fan clutch gave up on my E36 and in so doing cracked the water pump. Happened on my way to work and I had just enough coolant (before it leaked away) to drop it at my regular mechanic in Kingsland. Ray had a replacement fan clutch there in a day. Much appreciated.

Just wish it happened nearer home so I could have fixed it myself!

  7. Its value lies with true 850 enthusiasts, of which there are few in a small population like NZ. I think your pricing is really fair (bordering on cheap) and would pounce on this if I could afford it as I'm one of those enthusiasts. But the combination of 850 enthusiasm and a ready $48K is going to be hard to find here. I hope it stays in NZ but expect you'll have more success overseas.

  8. Thanks Mike. Upon further investigation the rear door is actually NOT working with the rest of the central locking when I use the key so I'm thinking it probably is the actuators after all. I'm guessing the driver's side is working with the central locking because the actuator isn't connecting to the rest of the system when the key is used. But of course won't work with the remote.

They're pretty cheap so I'll try that first but will definitely take you up on your offer of help if that doesn't work!
