Got the 540 out of the shed and gave it the once over in prep for road trip. Start tomorrow destination unknown (will know when we get there).
Final destination with Beach Hope Thursday evening and home again Sat night.
Just wish a crate in the back seat was still socially acceptable......

E34 540 for the win!
Great car, as Lionel said they aren't the fastest or the best handling car ever made but they're well built and have enough of the good stuff to hold their own.
Having owned an E39 540 I still prefer the E34 540, yes, it's not as well refined but its a rewarding drive if you push it a bit (and it feels fast as relatively low speed).
Put a manual behind it, get out of traffic and you'll be hooked.

Swap out the L=Jet and use the Motronic. Or retain all the L-Jet and fit it to the M20B25, it'll work fine I did it on my old E30 many years ago (I was a student and it was the only way I could get it to run without $$$).
I got most of my info/wiring diagrams from the Bentley manuals at the local library, though from my experience they weren't not always that relevant but at least give a start point.
Good luck

Check the overflow line to the expansion tank is clear, had similar symptoms on an E30 many years was blocked at the outlet on the side tank.
Don't know how different the E36 is, but may be a cheap check?

Casting my mind back many years now, the problem with the RX7 / corrado combo was.
Retains thin front rotors (22m thick) with only +20mm increase in diameter.
RX7 pads have only a small area of friction material in relation to the size.
Size being a problem for wheel clearance.
Piston area is smaller than the stock single piston, so screws the brake balance.
Back in the day (first time around +12yrs ago) I used 2pot Sliding Calipers from an EVO-4.
If I were to do it again, I wouldn't go past one of these setups from 300mm.de
I can vouch for the EVO-4 set up I purchased them and fitted to my old E30 with a 25mm master cylinder.
Sold them on the car to someone in Wellington in 2007, wonder if its still around (gold, pre-facelift 325i coupe can't remember the plate #).

Hi All,
Amateur mistake, I swapped out a seat without disconnecting the battery first and now have the air bag light on. I'm assuming this is just a reset? does anyone have a reset tool or can reccommend somewhere handy to the CBD (Auckland) I can call in to have done.
Happy to pay but would like to sort it tomorrow morning.

Just wear a rubber band and every time you see it do some exercise, it'll be heaps cheaper and you'll likely see the same results...... ;-)

Leave AKL SH1, left at Bombay out to Miranda, across the Hauraki Planes to Whangamata, through to Waihi Beach (great camping spot) down to Taupo via Pyes Pa and Rotorua. https://goo.gl/maps/LNxFb
Its about 400km but some great sections of driving road, Bombay to Miranda, Kopu to Whanagamata, Whangamata to Waihi, Pyes Pa to Ngongotaha.
I've driven it regularly whilst on a projects in Auckland and Taupo (staying overnight at home in Whanagamata, but unfortunately moved closer to AKL).

I'm going over on the Sunday.
I've not been before, but looks to be a great event.

Yup definitely was his. We bought it direct from him.
Thought so.
Nice guy, he helped me out with info & advice when I did my first bimmer 10 or so years ago.
He used to run a really nice little E30 M3, campaigned it for years.

I think it was Keven Mosen's?

E30, only 3 series I've had anything much to do with (though getting accustomed to the E46).
Probably my age, but the E30 in various race guises in the Wellington Nissan Mobil 500 and other memorable motorsport battles gives it a special place in my history.
