Id love the S54 engine and manual for my E28, but Im hopeful I wont need to pay for a whole car to get them.

Some "fence" to do that much damage?? Still, Im surprised this passed the checkmark as bad enough to be an insurance write off.

Sorted thanks!

Updated original post to correct my ignorance 🤣
Whats mad is I can find no evidence to back up this E53 4.8is that went for 9k I mentioned! I've checked Completed Listing, Lost Items and my inbox. It must not have used very good searchable keywords in the advert.

seller mentions they also have an estoril blue 4.6is - what a garage!
Eh no, an E70 with a 4.8i is a pretty normal thing (Ive just sold one). The 4.8is E53 is the ones we are referring to and the one I was tracking sold for far less only recently. Maybe it wasnt as nice as this one, but it was the same thing.

One sold here 2mths ago for somewhere (with bids) between $7k and 9k (cant recall) so this is.. expensive.

Listed on Trade Me so even more details there:
https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=4570670321
Located in Wellington, asking price is $8500 though I'm flexible.
Sharp looking E70, I've fixed a bunch of issues (PCV, side lights, wing mirror caps, new Vanos Solenoids, new FPR valves, new MAF, all filters etc) and added in new style BMW grilles.

FWIW, for my M54B30 swap (from a M30B25, so a big change) I got a custom retuned (though BMW original) ECU from this US company that combined with a wiring loom harness adapter for my E28 made the swap fairly plug and play:

As per my posts here, the X5 I picked up had these installed. I thought it as too loud, but I can see why some would like it. Does pops and bangs on overrun too.
Really easy diy install with a couple of 57mm exhaust band clamps. Comes with tips ready to go as well as hanger mounts. Probably the cheapest exhaust "upgrade" you will find for an X5.
Price: $200 or best offer.

More so these days that there are so many EV's around. Somewhat embarrassing when a 75 year old women in a MG can walk away from you at the lights in silence.
Exactly this, its just no where near fast enough to warrant the noise, its just embarrassing!

Somehow I forgot to mention this here.
Auction ends today:

Going to put more effort into fixing this X5 I have. The E32 would be cool for someone that has the means to repaint it or just doesnt care!

LOL, the one I got could also be described as exactly this, white as well. If it went for the price of a few parts it could be a runner. No idea myself on these type of auctions though?

Alternatively anyone selling the standard 4.8l e70 muffler?

Actually my own listing:
Continental TR7412UB-OR European Style Radio Orange Display Bluetooth https://www.trademe.co.nz/4452726299
The only readily available and quality modern headunit for pre-2000 era Bmws imo.
$279 (it's new and this is the landed cost) but I'll do a discount for you lot!

Just picked up a 2008 4.8i X5 in need of some TLC. We (with two babies) really don't like the volume out of these aftermarket mufflers. Does sound ok at higher speed but at lower speeds, just not a fan. The previous owner described it as a "real proper V8 sound", which is true depending on your tolerance.
Stock X5 V8 mufflers would be ideal, a direct swap more so.

No longer required, just bought a set of used coils as a backup for my main.

Has anyone got any bmw (bremi is oem) ignition coil pack rubber boots (or a bad or used coil I can take the boot off)? Doing the rocker cover gaskets and spark plugs and found one of the coil pack's rubber boot to be torn at the end!
Coil and boot looks like this: https://www.bimmerworld.com/Engine/Ignition/Coil-Pack-12-13-9-066-468.html

Not to be jerking you around, just plans here keep changing, but to confirm, you don't have the cabling or seat position buttons for these right?

Id love to give that a shot on my 3d printer. But I dont have a set of Style 21's to mount to..

Had it in my e28, its just an open diff but that super tall ratio might be interesting for someones project. Or an economy build.
188mm, so if you swap the backplate with your original (which you will have to do, I have a z3 one that is slightly too tight just as a cover) you can fit it to anything that takes the 188mm diff. Has two new output flanges on it though again you might need to swap them around (they just pop out).
