  1. Classic old videos of how much effort went into making our race cars :-)

Bummer there is no sound it may explain a few things... Please feel free to add comments of your insight from those who know more about cars than me.

The bit I do know about is on part one at 3:15 the dude has a Commodore 64 computer that they are designing it with .. ha ha ha!

just seen all the crash testing was done at the factory,so no need for you guys to conduct tests at the track

  3. Its been a good week!

Thanks to Targa passing and putting the off road racing prep ive been involved with on the back burner I got to spend the weekend in the shed.

Engine is in!! Was expecting the rear gearbox mounts to be completely wrong with the M52 but turns out they bolted up to some unused mounting holes, Score! The gear stick even comes out of the tunnel at the right place so no cutting required. Also I thought the power steering system wasn't going to mount up but again but BMW are a pack of geniuses! The M52 unit bolts up to the engine and compact steering rack perfectly. Altho I do plan on using a Z3 rack so this may turn out differently.... we will see. I Just have to pack up the engine mounts a tad and drop the sway bar a little to help with a small clearence issue.

Im keeping the cage but cant use the floor mounted pedal box. Not cool and not sure if I will even use a pedal box at the moment. A lot of money. Have got a sparco seat, have made up my own alloy seat brackets as the sparco ones are over $200. I made a set for less than $30. Will need to chop into the tunnel to get the seat more central as its about four inches off the steering wheel center line. Quite a bit so may even have to move the wheel towards the outside of the car. stink

Still cant find the camera but will have some photos in the weekend.

do you still have the 4 cyl sway bar in the car? if so change to 6 cyl type they have a deeper bend in them and you wont need to raise your engine, keep eng as low as possible,6 cyl will bolt straight in

  4. nice, you've done a great job on swapping it from a convertible to a coupe :)

what color you looking at painting it?

paint will be fridge white, cant decide livery yet ,will wait to see what sponsors i can get aboard

  5. Very nice.

Would like to know more about how you got on with the ECU etc.

about 10 hours frigging around once i got wiring diagrams, the early ews seems easier to fool than the later type,i had the key chip and ews unit to run the ecu

  6. Thats awesome, Any ideas on what sort of HP your aiming for? Engine mods?

just std atm extractors free it up abit

about 300 hp ? need a re map and dyno, should be reliable kept close to std,may look at the endurance stuff coming up 12 hr etc
