  1. This generally caused by moisture getting under the clear coat and is pretty common on all Machine Finish Alloys after a while. To repair you immersion strip the clear coat off and polish the wheel and then re-clear. As mentioned before in this thread Arrow Wheels can do this work or altenatively Manukau Auto and Tyre Centre also carry this sort of work out in house.

  2. Unfortunately in that size you will not find any performance tyres. Take a look a the Toyo Teo+, it is by far one of the best tyres I have come across in PCR sizing. Great wet weather grip, super quiet and it wears very well. Bridgestone use some of the technology from this tyre in their 'new' Ecopia range.

  3. My understanding is that car one should have right of way turning into the closest lane but then the rule "give way to your right" should apply. So if car one wants to turn into the farthest lane they have to go into the closest lane, then make sure the 2nd lane is clear before entering it.

    Clear as mud?

    righto

    carry on :D

  4. Hmmm.. .... very strange

The only other vehicle that has a 5x120 stud pattern but only a 70cb is the Holden Commodore but they are a 3 series offset.

Anyway - hopefully they are a 20ish ET. The centres should be able to ve machined pretty easily but make sure you get it done to 72.6 so thatthey actually slide over the E34 hubs :)

  5. Sorry not trying to spam the forum

I run my own insurance brokerage and deal with many Euro vehicles. I can get cover for you at good prices with decent excesses. I can also get cover for selected track days if you have completed approved driver training. Would like to help out anyone and always good to have a broker fighting your battles if it comes to a claim.

Also happy to answer any insurance questions

Good to hear, it is always nice having a broker on your side. :)

Maybe post in this topic as well

  6. Hi Guys

thanks for all your good wishes :)

I am moving to a national account manager with Exclusive Tyreses, and I will solely be looking after Cooper 4WD Tires. My first week on the job is down at Field Days so if you are around come and say hello.

Shannon here will continue to look after you guys, I just need to give him a bit of a run down on how everything works. He may not have as much time to come on here so keeping an eye on Trade Me will be your best bet.

I am parting on good terms so I will still be able to help out if you need any assistance

    cheers

    Johno

  7. Hi Johno,

What could you do price wise for mid range tyres?

    2x 225/45/17 and 2x 245/40/17.

    Thanks

    Dee

We sell a lot of the Toyo T1 Sport and are getting great feedback about them. They are easily the equivalent of the Bridgestone RE002 and probably better then the Goodyear Eagle F1. You are looking at $1200 for a set fitted and balanced, new with suppliers warranty, cheers.

  8. Hi everyone

after 8 years working at Mag and Tyre Direct I have made the decision to move to a new job. It has been a very difficult decision but an opportunity has come along that I hope will be beneficial for myself and my family.

My new role is a national role so it means that I may be able to come to a few other meets around the country as well :D

Hopefully, M&T will continue to sponsor this forum and provide some great product, But I will still be lurking around these forums and will happily pass any messages onto the stores if you need me to.

I must thank you for all your support over the past few years and look forward to catching up with everyone at the June 23rd meet if I am in the country (I head to Brisbane for training around then). My last day here will be Friday June the 8th.

    cheers

    Johno

  9. I personally wouldn't.

No real 'technical' reason to back it up.

The OD of the 215/245 Vs 225/245 may trigger issues with the ABS system.

And $2000 for 2nd hand tyres seem way too much IMHO

I use to get 245/40 Conti SCII's for $70ea with that sort of tread.

you mention $600 for them, know the seller / mates rates??

    +1

Best to stick with the factory sizes on your Motorsport.

  10. 95% of the time O2 sensor fault codes are the result of another problem....not the sensor

sorry, I should have said more, we had misfiring on one bank of cylinders as well. We replaced all the spark plugs, took out the 02 sensors, gave them a clean and it seems to have solved the issuer. The car is running and driving a lot smoother!
