  1. Regarding the km's, the guy has stated 250,000, which is about what it genuinely is based on carjam?

understandably so but the km's are all over the place if you read the carjam it look like it has the potential of being more around 300000km+.

A fixer upper of a car for me is no issue what so ever.

Heck i have had mk2 jetta/mk3 golf/mk3 jetta(vento)/Mk4 Golf and have worked on all of them on several occasions.

I really would like Shwartz black or The Gun metal metallic or white but in Mtech 2 kit.

That is the only real reason i'm abit reluctant at look at Farg4n awesome condition looking 318is.

Tbh never been in an E30 so i would not even know what to expect or consider.

  2. I met the guy who owns this a few weekends ago and I had a look at the car. It is nice dont get me wrong, but its rough. Its definitely showing its age! The kit is in bad order and there was rust in the bottom of the A pillar, which he bogged up. The paintwork is faded in places. Interior was good. Under the hood was very green and mossy, like the rest of the little cracks and crevases all over the car. It looks like its been sitting under a tree for the last 6 months. In my opinion its not worth what hes asking... But would definitely be a good track car/fixer upper!

In regards to the skyline being found in NZ, it wasnt.. He imported it for a grand total of around 30k!

Hope this helps, and doesnt sound to negative!

Hmm Thanks Simon, now i know the correct place for these kind of posts.

As for Sir E30, cheers for the heads up, i personally was thinking around the $7500ish mark, mainly due to front bumper and wheels and a few little things, but i'm no rush myself, Heck i have never even sat in a E30 BMW. Lol

Yeah i know (you all thinking what the hell is this man doin on this forum).

also do you own a the white E30 325 wagon? is it auto or manual?

    Cheers

  3. The first two entries that are wrong look to me like human error, but the last one on the most recent wof looks interesting, its very possible that the SI board batteries died and he just installed a whole new cluster with new K's on there,

It does have a bimmersport sticker on the bumper so someone on here must own it? Looks to be in decent shape.

Other than the lower drivers hand side of the front bumper the car appears to be in good condition.

  4. I found this on trademe just before.

It appears to be of good condition other than the fugly wheels and gear knob on the car.

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=175987628

    Oh and its white too,

But if you look here are carjam (aka Carfax)

    http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=m3e30&search=Check

The kms of the car is all over the place so not to sure what the true km's of the car really is.

Also it states car was first registered in 1991 but listed as a 1990?

But i do like it personally.

And THIS IS NOT MY CAR OR ANYONE I KNOW.

  5. what kind of fuel usage doe this beast have?

any indication for town and highway driving?

I did look at the promo vid you posted on Trademe but would just be interested.

    Cheers

    Really?

    So almost 11 - 12ish km/l in town driving?

    wow that is pretty impressive.

  6. thanks for that RJS.

I have seen IS and I, and knew I meant injected and, S usually meant Sports/Special.

But did not know about E.

So this would be the same or similar too an South African 325IS?

Which was tops in equipment and of course the performance department too?

    Cheers

Interesting i only ever recall seeing 325IS with M-Tech 2 kits.

Sorry for taking this thread off topic, Mods are most welcome to move this.

well again thanks for all this info.

This is an awesome looking BMW, hmm, if only i can sell my car first. Then there would be the choice of this car or Far4gn 318is. I know there are completely different cars.

  8. just to update that , i put in 6.5 soundstream speakers in kick panels did need a little bit of work to get in and smoothed the back of the kick panel covers to stop anything touching sound nice pity there way down in the kick panels

    they retail like 190-200?

    i paid 80 lol

Funny you should say pitty there in the kick panel. Doing speakers in the Kick panels usually nets you alot better stereo sound and image height, Speakers also generally require less EQ or electronic manipulation.

  9. Most Jap cars come with Alpine built head units. What you need is one of the philips 'world' head units (look almost identical)

I have one for sale at the moment that I used before the Nav install. Its in excellent order.

    Don't use a band expander.

Yeah i personally would not use the band expanders.

Well he is in negotiation with the company that has very nice 330i M-spec. Will keep you posted if he gets it i'll talk to you if it does happen.

Again thanks for all the help

  10. hahah .. cool, put it this way .. I got mine with black leather and the paint job I wanted and thats about it. From there I installed satnav, full m3 OEM kit, alots of metal work to the body, got the horrible wood grain trim re done in alloy silver, Multi functional steering, forged wheels and full suspension upgrade including sway bars, coupe seats on sedan carriers, suspersprint exhuast, euro OEM clear rear lights, euro clear side markers and HID 8k with DDE head lights and a bunch of other minor stuff like Ipod intergration blah...

Easiest and cheapest thing I learnt is that getting it all at the time of sale is the best way to go :)

however the retrofit thing is all OEM so its not some rangi tack on crap. Retrofitting is what BMW calls re visisting the factory options list again ;)

Haha yeah i know what you mean.

are the standard japanese radio able to get there frequency band changed on the radio itself?

Or via a band expander only?

  11. Good choice .... I have a sedan and it is mighty handy. Grab the m-sport if you can. and yes.. Multi Function Steering makes all the difference. remember he can retrofit any option down the track but the motorsport kit new your looking about 5-6k to do it with new parts.

    Thanks for this Hybrid,

yeah he is after an M-Sport with a catch he does want leather not alcantera material With Multi Function Steering.

He's not into retro fitting things, he feels it should already be there. lol

Get a BMW "pre-purchase inspection" done at Jerry Claytons or Team McMillian or maybe even call our forum sponsor Glenn at botany motor works wwhom Im sure does one too. Its about a 1 million times beter because it checks everything and the gotcha's with BMW vehicles better than getting a generic AA report done which just checks for basic problems.

wow thanks for the responsive reply.

I has found one potential 330.

He would prefer M-Sport and 5 door even if there are 5spd/6spd manual. He cannot do coupe due to family.

But it does have to have the M-Sport 3 Spoke steering wheel that is a must.

    Cheers
