Looks awesome tim, I used to see it around a lot in auck when you first got it
good luck with the sale:)
Haha yeah i think you are talking about the previous owner there, he's a good mate of mine that i bought the car from. I have only had it since Sept 07
-
well the strange and beautiful thing of these cars in standard or Chipped mode is you cannot realyl feel the turbo kick in.
It's just nice smooth torque and power curve.
it's a very deceptive powerband, a few times i have gone wow i'm already at a 100kms on the on ramp.
But seriously thou, it's a fantastic car.
I'm sure the new owner will just as happy with it as i have been with it.

I see...
Sorry didn't read the topic throughly enough. The price as sits seemed like a very good buy for a diesel, but I agree there is no point going forward if it is rough / needs money spent on it.
Got your eye on any 330's?
No 330 in mind at this stage. Need to ge trid of my cars first and get a house than will look at some options. This is the only BMW i have ever driven so still not to sure what will bge my next car, but BMW is i option at this stage.
-
Did you end up buying this car?
Diesels are super desirable, and this one looks like a very good buy. Would be suprised if it is still on the yard
No i did not buy the car, i would have had to spend at least another $2500 - $3500 to be happy with it being sound and safe that is. As far as i know yes it's still on the yard.
for that price of the car plus another $3000 i would rather get into a 330ci TBH.
-
Yeah 150000kms are nothing for diesels you are correct there.
As for high kms to the year of the car not that big a deal.
But guaranteed you cannot compare reliablilty of a BMW to a Mazda??
can you. Are BMW reliable?
I personally have no idea. As i have never owned a BMW.

MK4 Golf Turbo Back Exhaust System
in For Sale
Posted · Edited by GLIDN · Report reply
Exhaust Systems - Golf 1.8T
Eurospec exhaust systems are designed to develop the highest power gains from the K0 series turbo while maintaining good midrange drivability, low external noise levels, and low cabin noise and harmonic levels.
The complete turbo back system is comprised of a 61.0mm (2.4") diameter primary pipe to the catalytic converter and a 63.5mm (2.5") secondary pipe to the rear muffler. The cat back system uses a 63.5mm (2.5") pipe and includes a reducer adapter to fit the stock downpipe.
These systems use a slip over type clamp which allows for installation adjustments and provides a good harmonic barrier between sections.
Link of the system.

$1100 ono.
It made a huge difference on my GTI, almost 9wkw difference on my Chipped GTI.
Miltek turbo back exhaust only made 2-3 wkw difference.
Exhaust tip comes with the system but has been removed from the exhaust to give it the standard GTI tip look.
