And a skid pad welcome

Oh I can hardly wait to see the car with them fitted! I too have a 328i manual sedan and a wife & soon to be born baby to cart around also. My motives would be identical to your own! PICS once fitted pleased

 120 in 2nd gear @ 6400rpm before the chip tuning? sounds like an Automatic? Have the shift protocols been ruined? Whatever dj basil dogz is on I want some.

You gonna lower one of yuor 36's?
-
235/40R17's it is. Her indoors has found a 17" rim she likes thank the stars. Good girl even had a chat to Julian at BMAutobahn about an exhaust alteration
-
I hadn't included the 225/45-17 because the 235/40-17 is a BMW recommended size on 17" rim. Problem I have, and haven't explained is that Sharon my partner has taken a liking to a couple of 18" rim designs otherwise I'd be happy with a 17" Msport wheel wearing the 235/40-17 lol

I've got the third pedal at least... I don't wish to make any wholseale changes to the suspension or make significant power up mods to the engine (yeah right, maybe intake & exhaust) as I'm building a track car & have just about finished an RB26DETT re-build (ouch) so this 328 is really a cruiser with some sporting pedigree...if ya push hard ya slide around on the leather! I'm struggling with tyre sizes though: Specification..Sidewall..Radius..Diameter..Circumference..Revs/Mile..Difference 205/60-15........4.8in....12.3in....24.7in.........77.6in.............817.........0.0% - this is what we've got. 225/45-17........4.0in....12.5in....25.0in.........78.5in.............808.........1.2% - as suggested. 235/40-17........3.7in....12.2in....24.4in.........76.7in.............827........-1.1% - this is BMW size recommended 245/40-17........3.9in....12.4in....24.7in.........77.6in.............816.........0.1% - very close diameter but pretty fat. 225/35-18........3.1in....12.1in....24.2in.........76.0in.............833........-2.0% - bit small on diameter 225/40-18........3.5in....12.5in....25.1in.........78.8in.............804.........1.6% - bit big on diameter 235/40-18........3.7in....12.7in....25.4in.........79.8in.............794.........2.9% - ^^ +tyre shop recommended LOL. 235/35-18........3.2in....12.2in....24.5in.........76.9in.............814........-0.8% - not a bad match but don't exist! 245/35-18........3.4in....12.4in....24.8in.........77.8in.............815.........0.3% - good match on diameter

LOL. trying to make a hydrogen powered Bimmer aye?! good news mate.

After looking around at a fair few 18" rims and running tyre size calculators it looks like a 17" rim is goiung to be wise using a 235/40R17 tyre. The 18's rock but I either have to use 245's or 225's to get a good diameter match. And words of wisdom re: staggered set up my on standard suspnsion?
-
Seek a 2nd or 3rd opinion & confrim beyond doubt that the gasket has indeed failed. As stated it may be far cheaper to just throw that POS engine away & fit another...which may or may not fail in the same way in the not too distant future.
-
That would depend on the version of 333i you specifically refer to. IE: http://www.njh.u-net.com/333.html http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44904 http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/mod...r=55957&BMW

Mmm good deal Ah yup, that makes sense. cheers.
-
and they're legal with the Kiwi Police/LTSA/Gummint? You guys using the mountin brackets they sell or sticking them directly to your cars?
-
I read someone on that forum say the wheels suit it?! each to thier own but what a way to go
-
Agreed. Those M5 Replicas are 20 offset huh? I had them on my watchlist but they wont work on an E36 will they?
-
Oops, my bad/blind. You are indeed correct. A grand is still rather bloody expensive though...
-
Good spotting. They do look good. Not too flashy. I'm concerned about the profile - I mean 235/35R18 is what we'd have to run & is that sort of liquorice onna work well with the stock suspension? Have 265's on the 'R' and the price for the extra low sub 40 series tyres is scary! ( no Nankangs for this kid)
-
I had a look at those M3 wheels but they're not my favourite M wheel - I think I like the wheels on the 3L better. They'd be best on a properly staggered set up and I've got the feeling I'd need some suspension mods to make that work properly too. What do ya think of those wheels in my first post? Kinda on a budget here
-
All good Bravo. you answewred me well, thanks. What I really wnated to find out was if my M52 was a M52TU28 or not and if it was a 142kw 280NM or 140kw 275NM model or a 142kw 280NM @3500 to 5500 engine if ya get my meaning. cheers Andy

Anyone recognise this wheel model? Or offer an opinion about the look. Quite like the look but unsure how they'd look on our Arctic Silver E36. The tyres are useless to us as we'd run the BMW recommended 235/40R17 tyres so would have to sell the tyres, as well as the factory wheels & tyres our car already has. and then there's these Not sure about using an 18" on an E36. If an M3 ran 17's who am I to go bigger on a 328i sedan?!

OK. thanks for that Bravo. I'll decode the VIN.
-
OK so I've searched the forum and the net and my engine bay now where the hell do BMW put the build plate with colour code, chassis code, engine & trans details?
-
Yes it is. Would you like a contact phone number? Mine are going in next week. perhaps you'd like to see some photos before hand? Um...I believe it's the black rubbing strips mid way up the doors that we're discussing. I know my skirts are colour coded. Weren't only the very early E36's blessed with un painted (or grey over paint as you suggest) skirts & lower bumper lips?
