I thought of an alternative, an M40 hose will work, if it's long enough will buy a new one since much cheaper. if not I'll PM you.
-
Hmm looks similar but you just gave me a good idea.

Does anyone have one of the M20 3 way hoses to the expansion tank? I need one that will be cut to use from the Expansion tank then close to the engine. I don't really want to buy a new one to butcher, I have a used one but it looks like it's 30 years old, shrivelled up and dry.
Looking for something pretty decent or close to new.

Lots more done over the last week, It's now drive-line wise completed. Wiring is all here, got the missing trans/o2 loom from an SMG M3 car and it's giant..
I plugged it all in for a test fire since I was at that point, initially would only get it to crank without fuel or spark, though the pump was priming each time. Dug around and found I missed a huge connector between 2 looms and another at the same plug for the coil loom. Pretty confusing because there is so many damn looms (4) and with the SMG one there is a big bunch of stuff obviously can't plug in.
So now it's all running finally, stoked. I first panicked the DME wasn't right or the adapter loom was wrong or something, luckily my own amateur mistake.
Since it goes I could finally find somewhere to put this giant mess of wiring.. Engine side it's pretty tidy, There's almost nothing that goes across to the driver side.
But I now possibly sacrifice having a glovebox, a compromise I don't mind living with.
Can't wait to take it for a spin, hopefully in a few more weeks

How sure are you it's the stem seals? M20s vent the crank directly to the intake, sometimes it's just oily in the intake manifold and can leak down the intake boot too. Then you burn it all as you drive.

I read about that but I had gone the weekend before that and didn't plan on going again. Andy lives closer..

Just 12point metric normally? Pictures?

I remember this, haven't seen it in a few years.
That is some nasty rust though, bet it's throughout

Looking for an oil cooler with lines from an M3. Or an oil cooler adapter to -10an fittings.
-
How did you end up with needing the U.S stuff? Couldn't Kassel do Euro software / Euro wiring on the adapter loom and use a regular relay?
-
Yeah I went and had a look at this, There's a heck of a lot of rust on it, You haven't seen the start of it if you only just noticed this!
Why else did ya think no one local bought it

I reckon M52B28 is the best for a budget and it's real straight forward. Lightweight, plenty of power and .they are quite easy to get power out of with M54 3L internals and intake / cams / headers.
-
Yup, have them already probably a couple pages back. Just need one more section of the loom and then figuring out where everything goes and I can put everything back in. Hopefully have it going in the next few weeks, Just more and more things that need doing. Change one thing then down the line something else needs to be done, then something else.
Where did you guys place your Driveshaft loops?

Sent my LSD up to Kayne B to rebuild and add extra friction plates. Wish I had a before photo, The diff was originally from a near 400,000km M325i, then spent 2 years in my touring. Was covered in oil, completely dirty and I wasn't really sure it had any lock up left in it. Looks brand new now. Very impressed. Big thanks to Hans for getting it up there and back for me.
Have one part of the loom left which should hopefully arrive tomorrow. I've been blown away how much work is involved in doing this, I definitely underestimated it but I'm in too deep now haha. The wiring is just crazy, bits all over the place. Once I get that final loom all the air intake side can finally go on.

Good luck doing only trail arms, I'd do the whole lot in one shot. Absolute c*nt of a job, I rate it worse than doing engine or gearbox swaps.
-
Only the shocks left now.
And I know, I didn't want to part with them they are very good. They just don't work with my current setup unfortunately.

You can only buy in 20L. Talk to Kayne Barrie, he does it for 39.99 /L plus GST.

Not sure but I doubt it, rear end is totally different to E30s

Is it a full set of springs? For 6 or 4 cylinder
Yeah, Just hadn't taken the rears out when I took the photos. Yes I don't think H&R do any different between the two.
How much lower do the drop hats make the front?
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
About 10 - 15mm. Enough to close up a gap. I was using them because my front raised slightly when I went from M20 to M52 (due to being lighter).
