  1. My opinion is that an old POS looks like an old POS regardless of what colour its illegal lights are. Fail. Just my opinion.

Secondly, and what I have observed from running early in the morning, is that these aftermarket casino lights don’t seem to work very well, I am either blinded by them of or they don’t put out bugger all light at all, on top of this I would say a good 50% of the rice has at least one bulb out.

Biggest wank light failure I have seen was a Red Honda Civic driving in the dark the other morning with only two strips of RED LED attached to the front bumper, if you could call it a bumper, it was more a fibreglass boat hull.

    +1 to whole post

LED's look homax on any car, including high end euros.

  2. Yes thank you for the advice. i might just pay my fine and then write a letter saying the cop didnt do a proper measurement of the car he just put his notebook under the sideskirt of my car and said it was to low but the sideskirt is part of the body and not the same height as the chassis or something of this sort.

If you pay the fine you basically accept responsibility in my view.

Long and the short of it will be they will just read it as another teenage idiot trying to get off a fine (I'm not saying you are, I don't know you so won't comment on that) They get 100's of letters every month for similar things and tend not to take them tooo seriously (Not right, But Reality)

That said, you should always stand up for yourself.

You should always expect the responses you got when you post up this type of thread, But don't let it worry you. Its easy to be tough on the net.

  3. You have given good advice Allan. I had a Lexus RX330 and loved it, just bored with SUV and now want to get a good sedan and to be honest I don't mind getting a Lexus sedan, it's just that after test driving the BMW, it feels more steady to drive and overall driving pleasure. I couldn't get a chance to test drive the E46 and the auction is closing in an hour. What do you guys think is a reasonable price if I decide to win it, dealer seems good, only imports quality cars it seems, here's the link again -

I am looking for a sedan, leather interior, preferably beige. At least 2000 cc motor, auto, 2003-2005, dark color preferable but if car is good I don't mind the color much. Price range is around $20k

I am also interested in this Lexus, going to check it out this weekend.

Shape is a bit old style though compared to the E46, what do you guys think?

Under-statement of the century, Sorry to say I think that thing looks horrible. Blander than dry white bread.

  4. "No sooner than he points out a speed camera mounted in a silver van up ahead, one unfortunate motorist makes the mistake of flashing his headlights to oncoming vehicles.

The green ute pulls to the side of the road the moment Mr Polglase turns and snaps on the mufti Holden's lights and sirens.

He reaches for his faded leather logbook, steps out, and strolls up to the driver's window.

It turns out the driver had been flashed himself and he says he was simply returning the favour.

But as far as Mr Polglase is concerned, what's often called the "unwritten rule of the road" is no different to obstructing a police officer - an offence which can carry three months imprisonment or a $4000 fine."

Hmm I could see that standing up in court...Not.

  5. I had the Top Beltronics 5 years ago, cost me over $1000, in 12 months I had 3 tickets with it. Not beacuase it didn't save me, I just think I tended to speed more. Also had my car broken into, radar in the glove box but I suppose they saw the marks on the screen.

Now I have no radar, Consistently travel 1200+ Km's for work a week on the open road at varying hours of the day, and haven't had a ticket for over 2 years.

    Go figure.

Did you actually get a ticket for doing 56 in a 50, or are you full of sh*t? That seems unreasonably harsh.

  6. Awesome Effort, at least your out there doing it, not just talking about it.

How many 16 year olds can say they have stayed up till 3am working on there own race car. Not there Dads/Uncles/Whoevers.

I admire your enthusiasm and hope you go well next season.
