nice price.

-
thats exactly what i think too, its still an old motor. i want a new motor thats got the newer technology etc to go with it. so the job itself sounds hard but not impossible....
-
That link computer looks like the go, what if i got a factory computer with the engine though? would that be better than the link? does anyone have a rough idea of the cost of one of these engines and gearboxes?
-
how much for the set up? cheers

Hi all,
i have been toying with the idea of putting a later model bmw motor into my e30 to give it a bit more grunt and just make it a very drivable and reliable car. i was thinking the e46 330i motor with vanos, how hard is this conversion and what major things are involved. i have the ability to do the mechanical and eletrical side of things myself was just wondering if there was some things i should know about
Cheers
Sam

Are these still for sale? cant remember if I saw them on trade me the other day..
Nah sorry they sold.
-
I'm looking for some to so if you find some let me know. cheers

Just thought those e30 owners may like to know i was just speaking to a guy from fibernew in christchurch and he was so suprised i had a crackless dash.. any way as the conversation went along he said DO NOT USE ARMORAL on your dash of vinal. because its silicon based it cooks and dries it out and degrades the material. To clean he said either use a product called restore-all or 1 part dishwashing liquid to 20 parts water. If you have armoral on it currently you must get it off if you dont want your dash to crack, use the dishwashing liquid and it should work. he also just advised plainly not to use it on anything as its not good for anything at all.
Just thought id post up what i learned from a trusted person in the trade.
Cheers

Fully agree here... people these days dont know the meaning of boy racer...
iv been labeled as one recently just from Having a nice looking car.
just because someone has a nice looking car that they have a pride and passion with doesnt make them a boy racer
I agree here too. I have been labeled by people just because i drive a nice car with a set of wheels on it. I feel my car is very tidy and just because im an enthusiest about cars doesnt mean im a boy racer, i have my national race and rally licences and did the targa just recently im sure very little if any "boy racers" have these. Those with matt black nissans the have no springs etc are the real problems. And i agree that there is a time and a place for everything, skids too. I mean like my old man is into cars and enjoys doing a big smokey up the road and he has been racing cars at an international level for more years than i been alive, is this endangering lives? he can drive a car better than most can, also my grandad who is 80 and drives an e46 330 enjoys giving it a bootful. the point im trying to prove is its not only "boy racers" and that not every skid is endangering lives. Just my 2 cents not meaning to offend anyone.
-
Sorry, hope I didn’t offend, I had the same wheel on a Subaru once.
Nice car once again.
nah its all good mate, i admit they do look the same ay!
Cheers mate, im loving tourings at the moment though
-
Nah its not a nardi wheel off a subaru. its a special nardi torino wheel bought from the factory at great expense.
-
Looks mint,
And I agree with Tom, Time for a new sig hah
haha is this sig better?
-
they did the front seat faces and reconditioned the rails and springs with new foam everywhere. basicly remade the seat, $1800 incl.
-
Wow, great car. Probably the best selection of opyions i've seen.
OBC, colour-coding and leather sport seats, all on a NZ New car?
Has that leather just been redone? It look suprisingly new for a 18 year old car!
Thanks mate, yeah she is NZ new. i had the leather redone a couple months ago by m.s upholstry in christchurch
-
Well I reckon it looks mint. What were you a competitor in?
Thanks mate, i was a competitior in the Fours and Rotarys car show but not in this car haha. I just put it up there so i could gain entry to the show and never took it down.
