  1. I'm pleased it worked out for you - I was temped to do the screw driver trick too, but was worried the ring would break before it came loose - It only took a couple of minutes to make something up

    Cheers

    Craig

  2. I had to replace mine, but only because the fuel sender unit which is part

of the pump failed. I brought the replacement pump from Autohausaz ( I've got quite a few parts from them both for the e36 & the 2002 and have been very happy with the service. The pump's quite easy to replace, the only trick is making up a tool to undo the

    locking ring

  3. I had a similar problem on my E36 with climate control. Instead of a resistor pack

there is a module (basically a very large transistor) which controls the fan by pulse width modulation. On the E36 this module is above the transmission tunnel, against the firewall. It has large heatsinks on it, and is inserted in to the air stream from the fan.

If you've got a 'scope you can check the input and output wave forms. A multimeter will

measure the RMS voltage so you can get an idea of what's going on if you don't have access to a scope.

I've got the wiring diagrams for the E36, which I could pdf and email if you like

  4. I've just installed a link in my 2002 hopefully I'll have it running next weekend. It's the second one I've installed, the first was in a Toyota Rally car which I was really happy with. They're not difficult to install provided you have at least a few clues about automotive wiring

  5. Talking about LSD's, since THAT is the topic, would anyone actually be interested in having a 4.45 LSD???

I would!, but then us rally guys are a little weird, I've got a 4.45 open and a 3.94 LSD

for the 2002 (it runs an E30 diff) but what I really want is a 4.45 LSD and I don't believe

the parts from the two diffs are interchangable

  6. 1795ccm

    4 cylinders

    4 coils

    4 valves per cylinder

    4 point Motronic injection v1.7

    2 throttle valves

Are you sure this is correct for an e30 318?, I''m using a 318 e30 inlet manifold on my 2002, it's only got one throttle body and the 318 head looks identical to a 2002 head - single cam 8 valves
