Im trying to keep the price dwn, its already costing me $1500, id be keen for non genuine bearings, and i think the dealer only sells genuine bmw parts which are extremely costly. but if i cant find them anywhere else i guess im going to have to go thro the dealer
-
So im reconditioning my engine, ive managed to get all the parts i need except big end bearings and was wondering if anyone can suggest somewhere i can find these, ive already gone to european autospares for oversized pistons, main bearings, seals and rings, and bm workshop for gasket kits but i neither of them have big end bearings. Alittle help? :bounce:
-
Wondered how long it would take them to find out yeh work at european autospares

-
You should try find a twin sports exhaust off a motorsport, i love mine at high revs sounds live a f1 car, such a sexy note at low revs too.
-
Surprisingly i have zero, only ever been pulled up once for running an orange light, then wrote into them and got off the fine.

So my rear wheel bearings crept up on me pretty quickly, and what a racket! Just thort id post this link up if anyone else needs to replace their rear wheel bearings, and enjoy the friggen silence! http://www.teamdfl.com/bmw/e30/rear_wheel_...ings/index.html I went off this step by step guide, and it proved to be pretty simple. Got my wheel bearings from saeco at discounted price of $47each +GST.

hold yeh horses, MYSTRO is getting his supercharger mounted this weekend, im using him as my test dummy. Its a supra supercharger. Getting done professionally. Id wait and see how his goes an see how many troubles he has with it, thats what im doing, so il have a good idea in the new year as to whether im keen or not. Cost round $3000 to have it done with all the computer and little gizmos. :mosh:

I have an E30 tow bar sitting in my garage if you want it

Thing is im not paying for it, only paying for 2 new bushes and the lights and jet done, rest is coverd by insurance, but the fact they are taking really good care and keeping in contact, alot of other places dont keep you posted unless you call them. And im impressed with how fast they got onto the job to insure i get my car back asap. Also the prices he is charging me is 60%cheaper then a quote i got from pakuranga automotive, who did the WOF on my car. ie, pakuranga auto was charging me $120 per bush where as Botany Motor Worx is charging me $65 for 2 new bushes. Its crazy. There really looking after me.
-
Id like to say, if your from out east or south for that matter and are looking for somebody to service or fix your bimmer i really recommend Botany Motor Worx in the Botany South centre. These guys are doing the absolute fab job on my car, updating me at least twice a day and doing me great prices. These guys are renewing all my engine mounts, all gearbox mounts, servicing my gearbox and have sent my drive shaft to hamilton to get serviced, they are also replacing all the bulbs in my lamps, windscreen jets, also my 2 front rear bushes, all this was apart and bits ordered and sent within 30mins of recieving my car! Even tho they were busy with many other cars. They are telling me my car will be drivable Monday avo!!! If that isnt great service what is!
-
You stole my login name from onboost forums heh. All good. When are you going to steal yeh parents car? Lets do a dare, il give yeh $5 towards yeh own bimmer if you take yeh parents for a kane. :thumb:

-
Yeh, i forgot to watch it on monday, got hooked on watching The Others. Aparently it wasnt much. XSTV Will show more as they were interviewing us, just i dont have sky to watch it.
-
They arnt cutting much, they are using NEW parts, fresh off the mold in germany, assesor says they still make new parts for this particular series. As for paint not matching... my car just recently had a respray so theres no problem there. My car is in very good hands, my mate wayne from pakuranga panalbeaters has taken her under his wing.
-
quite possibly a respray, and maybe new mags, im thinking either alpina replicas or some sort of deep dishes. No im never selling this car, sorry dude.
-
yes it was my bimmer. i have pictures of the crash, they are reparing it, they have ordered $5000 worth of parts new from germany and the assesor is going to look at my car again on monday to make sure he hasnt missed anything. My excess of $1000 has been cleared because the guy who hit me has a criminal charge against him now so he will be paying it. Just means i wont get my car back for a bit as the parts are being shipped. Ohwell, atleast im getting it back. :bounce: go state! bimmer_accident_1

my car was t boned by a 4x4 lexus today at luch, the asian is getting done with careless driving and not giving way. There is a big possibility my car is a write off. Im hoping it wont be, im fully insured for 13500, but the damage is huge to the rear passenger, the chassi is straight and the axel suspension shocks and wheel is still all ok but under the a pillar is stoved in. Wish me luck.
-
Cheers, had a feeling it could be. As much as it would be illegal I was hoping it was a locking device (heavy dreaming) heh, but then id have to have hydrolics. Meh.

I was changing the oil in my LSD today when i noticed a censor attached to the diff. Just wondering if you can tell me what this censor reads as there are no warning or info lights on the dash or display that would relate to this censor.
