  1. Fuel pump relay should not be priming the system when you turn the head lights on.

No it shouldnt, which is why I am asking. Its pretty noisy, was wondering if its the relay itself that is the problem, or something else likely?

Hmmm the bonnet paint is in really good condition, its just the threads were a tad rusty from not having been attached in 6 years. Im wondering if its cheaper to get another bonnet or get an engineer to remove said snapped bolts. Any ideas on prices?

  2. Ok, anyone know of a good way to get stripped bolts out?

5 of 6 bonneT mount bolts snapped off in the holes. I drilled em and got a screw extractor, but that snapped off in it as well so I'm guessing I'll have to take it to an engineer?

also, I think it must be the fuel pump relay is buggered, whenever you switch on the headlights with the engine off you can hear the relay buzz and the pump try and re pressurise the system for a second. I'm Hoping It's just the relay anyway

  3. I've got a pair of rear rubber pads and set of std springs in Palmy if that helps to get you through the WoF and mobile?

yeah may end up having to do that until I can find a set of lowering springs to go in it, reckon they'd work ok with the shortened shocks in it?

  4. Took it to the shell on pioneer highway, only place that could do it today, going wellington tomorrow so wanted to get parts if i had to.

Failed on wipers + washer fluid, headlights not adjusted, driver seat adjustment and too low.

Its got compressed springs and shortened shocks, would have to get pretty big rubber pads i would think.

  5. As per title, would prefer lower north island so I can pick it up and save on shipping, but If i cant source one here then will have to go further.

Will probably be better to grab the whole thing, as theyre balanced together with the rear half arent they? (which I have) and will need the mounting brackets, bolts and a guibo maybe, will see what the one in my 325 autos like.

    Thanks,

    Bradd Earea

  6. E30 325i auto 4 door parts, drivers side scraped up. Some parts are gone ie diff battery cable.

Need it all gone quickly if it's not sold in a couple weeks the scrap metal dealer gets it, so make an offer on the part and it's pretty much yours. Chassis is still registered on hold. Oh yeah, I also have an original BMW owners folder with manual and servicing schedule etc. Ill let it go for the right price haha, otherwise ill keep it longer.

For the sake of having a price, I'd take a couple hundred for the whole engine.

I'd also be interested in swaps, I need:

    318i manual prefacelift driveshaft

    two tie rod ends

    Cheers

  7. Anyone near palmerston northish wrecking an m10b18 engined car?

Looking for quite a few peices mainly ignition (distributor etc) and cooling (thermostat housing etc).

Also exhaust manifold and driveshaft most likely.

    Cheers.

  8. It's a 4 door sorry, and it's been a while it's been off the road for a few months but I think it was maybe 500ml every 4-6 weeks I think. A thicker oil probably would have helped I think. Hmm probably more a bit of oil than a little bit if it's that much I guess haha

  9. Have a whole white 325i Auto 1986 parting out, thread was on here a few months ago but ive now moved so will just tear out whatever peices you want. 400 for the whole thing atm. But just ask/offer for individual peices, I dont want much for any of it now.

Engine uses a little oil, auto trans seems fine.

    Gone :

    Diff

    Lowering Springs

    Glovebox

    boot battery cable
