Hey guys, the rats got some of the wires in my car- seems to have shorted out something in the ecu and cooked it. Anyone got an affordably priced ecu for an m20b25 they’d like to sell? Mine is the grey sticker one- but I hear the green one plugs in too- is just lacking on some of the diag stuff. So either will do. Cheers! Matt

So my car is entered in an event which requires it to be “dressed up/down” somewhat. No guidance if he theme- go your own way thing. Given me and the guy who ate entering are from Hamilton we figured we could go “bogan motoren werke” since the car has faded/peeled red paint- it’s lowered, has 17” wheels on the front and 15” on the back- the stereo, bad tints, very loud exhaust. What more can we do to it to make it more bogan? Or any other ideas about a better theme? cheers chaps!

I have a set of 19" msport copies which is like to swap for 17" Bmw wheels- with at least wofable tyres. these are for an e34- so need to have appropriate offset- however I'm easy on the hubcentric size (i.e. I'll take e39 hubcentric size.) these are 19x8.5. Et20. tyres tears might pass wof, fronts won't. i ask for wofable tyres on the 17s as I perceive the 19s are worth more. theyre okay condition, however two have some scrapes. reason: I'm just not thug enough to drive this car with these wheels.

Wheels - Pair - WOFable Tyres - 5x120 for E34 Title says it all, now's not a fab time for me to be buying a pair of 19" tyres, so need a pair of wheels with tyres which will pass muster. I guess, I want E34 15 or 16" wheels, but any 5x120 will be fine I'm sure. (its for the rear, so even 3 series offset will fit.) Needs to be pickup from the bay of plenty somewhere. I'm in papamoa, so the closer the better.

Hi Guys, So I've since moved city, had another kid and my wife and I don't really need two cars any longer. Car still goes fine, has been driven daily for the last few months. Should mention that the gearbox is noisy but seems fine, apparently this is normal (?) Anyway, now with no WOF and the reg on hold I'll take $1250 ono for it. Should be noted that I have started stripping some of that revolting black paint from it. If you like it though its like, $5 a can from supercheap to re black it, only done the two front guards. I'll throw in a 885 head if the price is right, had a weld and needs a skim. Car is now in Tauranga. Cheers guys.

Brought this 1986 BMW 525e Manual recently to be a daily driver, however my work has given me a work car so this guy is no longer required. Runs fine, drives well, really cheap on gas. Its a bit rough but perfectly servicable. Excellent project or cheap runabout for someone. m20b27 perfect for a stroker project. Getrag 260 5 speed. seems fine. The only downfall is that it has been pained flat black, badly... however this would probably come off with some paint stripper and some patience. Current WOF and REG. Car is in Papamoa at the moment, but could deliver to Auckland at the right price. $2000 ono.

Pretty sure the head isn't cracked though, needs a weld to build up part of the combustion chamber wall where it has thinned out due to water being used rather than coolant I guess? $1000, any takers?

Manual BMW 1990 525i e34 for sale! Brought this to fix up as my daily, but its been a month since I got it, got the head off it, and i'm just not going to get it done. Its a fairly high spec model - A/C, trip computer, fully electric. But its cloth interior and the paint are all pretty shabby. Wof expires february next year. reg on hold. When I brought it the cooling system was pressurising. I've removed the head, I think it just needs a skim or a bit of a weld up, as you can see where it blew into the cooling gallery. Included with the sale is a full head gasket set. including new head bolts. waterpump has been done recently. Payment must be by the weekend, but I dont mind it sitting here for a week or two. $1250ono

Looks like I'm going to have to sell this thing to fund another car before Christmas. $2500 if anyone's interested. Beige leather, Oxford Green, 2l I6 engine. Just replaced all the front suspension linkages. Current WOF REG etc. Front drivers guard is dinged in the corner. EOI I guess? I'll stick this on the for sale bit soon. Cheers

Nah, no injector pulse, so no fuel is getting through at all. Almost certainly a sensor or computer fault. but I don't really have the means to find out which at the moment. Cheers,

Bang on 3 Bar. Using a tyre pressure gauge (worked a treat actually!)

So it will actually not run if the fuel pressure is low? I sort of thought it'd cough and splutter a bit if it was on the low side. got an easy way to see if the injectors are doing anything? listening down a screwdriver implied that they're not. Will the injectors actually do anything if theres low pressure? Thanks Glenn.

I drove the E39 to work on wednesday, like I do everyday. Went to leave and it just cranks over and doesn't start. Its a 1997 520i I6 2l engine M52b20 I think. I've had a good internet and such but can't find anything that quite fits the bill. Spent a fair bit of time on it yesterday. heres what we have. -Full tank of 95 -If I spray engine start in the intake, and crank it, it fires. -I Pulled the back seat out and checked that the fuel pump was making noise (it is) -Checked all fuses and relays -was was running a bit rough after I left it for a week, a week or two ago (sounded like it started on 5 maybe?) -I replaced the cam and crank angle sensors a while back. -we had close listen for the injectors while cranking, and were not sure we could hear them. - after turning the car on to run, you can squirt fuel out of the valve on the fuel rail. (not as much fuel pressure as I'd have expected though) So my questions are: Is it enough to see that the fuel rail pressurises a bit to say that the fuel pump etc is not the problem? I seem to remember that the cam and crank angle sensors were spark cut, not fuel cut, when in an error state, so could it be that one of them has failed again? Does anyone else have any suggestions? I really need to get it going again in the next few days... I can't handle the bus! I don't have access to a code reader, or have the ability / cash to get it to someone that does have one unfortunately. Thanks very much! Matt

I thought I'd also add, that it now has its extra headlight in. And I'll be changing it back to its normal springs today. I'll chuck up some more p[hotos when done. And price drop! $1250 I need money as I've just brought a rusty old Fiat!

I need to sell my last project unfortunately, to make room for a new one! Its a 1987 525ee, Silver. Has an M20B27 2.7l engine. I've got rid of the crappy 200casting head, and put on a 731 version one. this flows much better than standard, and also has extra camshaft bearings and double valve springs. The engine has a new headgasket, head bolts and cambelt. Really powerful engine! Stupidly slippery on almost any corner! Car is in pretty good condition, for one of these, there is nothing that should stop it getting a warrant. but two rusty patches by the boot. These would be fairly cheap to do, or easy to do yourself if you can weld. It has an auto box at the moment unfortunately, but its the smoothest 80's bmw one I've ever been in. Electric windows, alarm + remote central locking. Electric sunroof. Airconditioning (needs re-gassing) 13" bbs basketweave wheels. Currently has Jamex springs all round, the front ones are way too low though. Factory ones will be included. At the right price I'll put them back in. Paint is a bit crappy, but looks fine from a distance and the back bumper is bent. Just thought I'd try here before putting it up on trademe. I'm after $1400 for it. But open to offers, so if you have an offer, let me know!

There use to be a e36 318 around Newtown in wellington that had "SEXY MOMMA" or something similar down the side of it in 15" high mirror'd writing. Seriously the worst! not even in NZ english! "got ENZO KEY?" well I do now!

I'm after an M20b20 or b23 (or a b25) engine with all intakes, throttle body, injectors etc. This is so I can pinch everthing from it, and jam it on my m20b27 which sounds likes its about to explode. I'm after one as cheap as possible- Theres an m20b20 on trademe but I'm talking $100 or so. I had arranged to buy Jacko's old one late last year, but the story was, the origional buyer who had origionally failed to show up, showed up, without him knowing and took it! That was going to be for $50 so they're out there! So please bare with my cheapskate student sob story! Anyone got one sitting under their workbench or something? Bottom end can be shagged, I'm not concerned about that. Thanks for anyone's help!

Unfortunately it actually is a boat. But there must be heaps of you guys that have a spare m20 floating around (ha!) apparently they're very easy to marinise... In saying that, I'll swap it for an M20 - facelift GImmie an M20 with all the loom and computer etc and you can have the trailer too! $500 and it comes with a KDX200 motocross bike! I could turn it into a spa-pool or something I suppose... This should be a lesson to everyone! Don't decide at 7am, when you've just got home from a night out to go on trademe!
