Actually, the whole conversion would have cost me well over 2k....the 1400 was over and above what i intended to spend, which was about 900...heh, oh well. Thats life huh! If im guna spend my money on something...at least I know its worth while!

Well, I thought it would be pretty standard...but it ended up costing me $1400 more than I thought. So I really couldnt afford it either Looks like i'll be paying this one off over a few months now I hate debt :thumbsdown: But being able to drive my car makes it all better..almost...

Everything has been replaced now so we shouldnt need anything extra. Now officially a manual. Taking me a while to get use to driving a manual, but really enjoying it oh yeah, if anyone needs an auto box for any reason, then let me know

So tempted to write the whole speal...but I more than likely shouldnt get into it! So all I will say is... pink floyd and led zep rule..along with alot of other metal eminem is only famous because he knows how to work well with the media...but he does it in such a piss taking way, that I think you've gotta show him abit of credit. even if its not musical credit. I like green day, even if it is borderline commercial pop... commercial pop should die... which would include eminem...cos he's basically just a sales tool for commercial music... Each to their own..however some people are not educated enough to make an informed decision...so they just choose pop my 2 cents....carry on... :bounce:

towed the sh*t out of it with the fairmont!heheh we sure did that was an interesting drive... So anyway, after cleaning all the sh*t off my new transmission and helping out here and there, I now have a complete manual transmission, radiator and the works, We also did a bunch of other stuff at the same time, but it seems to have come out really well, Now all it needs is a good clean and i'll be happy as larry Now all I need to do is get a new interior....and maybe a sub to help my new components out with bass...

Well, we officially got half way through, Auto came out ok, however getting it back in seemed to be a little trickier, since we didnt have a clutch allignment tool and a few other things. Its now with Ernst from Bavarian motors because he has all the right tools so is guna finish it off for us...I will be down there tomorrow helping them work on it, and it'll hopefully be all good, manual, and ready to drive when it comes out! I will keep ya posted...here are some interesting pics at our efforts to get the Manual transmission out of the parts car at the first place... this is wicked fun to watch.

Well, I've gone out and got a 1990 E30 318i. Pretty good condition but we are doing alot of work on it this weekend...and at some point also going to do a manual swap. (in the next month I hope) But got a pretty good deal and it'll be fun to work on...so here is some pics for ya'll. Could do with a good clean and polish, but that'll all be done this weekend. So thats it for now

Well, I swapped a 95 auto honda civic...worth 5-5.5k for a 1990 E30 318i on 17" borbets (gus was talking about this before) and the guy let me take my stereo system and gave me $4000 cash! It has about $900 worth of work to do to it, but nothing major. So I would have paid somewhere between $1000-1500 for it, but I got the stereo worth $400 with it... So I would say have a look around private sellers before you go and offer that kinda money to a dealer. Or just make sure you check it all out before rushing into any offers. ...either that or throw in an extra $1700 and buy gus's car off him cos we all know thats mint and its got an extra .7 displacement and 2 extra cylinders... my 2 cents...carry on
