  1. Hey Guys,

Thinking of selling my e34 M5, 1990 3.6 5spd. Ex uk import, has big miles on it but had all the right money spent, needs new air con compressor, had new chain and tensioner approx 60'k mls ago, new water pump and fan approx 2000 mls ago, just had service and wof last month. I've done this car too little justice and it spends too much time idle, if anyone is keen pm me and I'll give you more info, post pics in next day or so.

    Cheers Grant

  2. Hey mate, would be a worthwhile project, have rhd e34 3.6 and its one of the best cars I have ever owned, when swapping things over have a good look at the areas on the bodyshell that have been strengthened and make changes, difference between m535 & m5 like night and day, Brent is going to love his e28 once he has done the conversion. Good luck with it, my old bus has been known to give the odd e46 m3 a fright, all good fun.

  3. Hey mate,

Go hard with developing it to your taste and style, looks like its coming along well, will look great with a new front clip, there was an mtec II front clip on trade me last week, not sure if it is still there & also not sure of mods required to fit to a pre-facelift, great to see you gettin in amongst it, hope it goes well and look forward to seeing the finished animal.

  4. Hey Kento,

I know this reply is well out of date in relation to the last time there was any discussion about your car, don't know how far down the track of rebuilding the engine you are, but the following info may help.

I was the guy who was looking at the car also, had my mechanic out to look at it, we could get about a 1/4 turn out of the crank one way, but trying to turn it over by crank just resulted in a very metalic clunk, the engine whilst not seized completely solid was well and truely seized, I don't think any amount of lubrication or kero would solve this one, my mech. felt it was quite possibly a snapped conrod or crank issue, value his opinion as he builds his own race vehicles, came second in the NZ v8 series last year, knows his onions.

Anyway hope the rebuild is taking shape, if you are ever thinking of parting with it let me know, also be keen to catch up with other bmw guys down here as I have just moved to Christchurch

    Cheers Grant

  5. Hey guys,

540's there are a fair few of them on Trade Me at present, all the higher k ones are sitting around $,6.5 - $8.

They have all been on there for some time, last fully optioned Kiwi one I saw was $8.5 with sport seats full history and 150k on it, that was about two months back, through a mate in Akl.

Jap import with cloth would be about $7.5 flat out I think

    Cheers

    Grant
