  1. Thanks, am hoping someone good will get it as its a great car! All the best Dave
  2. I have decided to put my 2002 E46 E46 M54Y 330i up for sale. This car is an NZ NEW model with Full Service history, either by BMW dealer or BM Workshop. Car had the gearbox reconditioned just over 15 months ago, by BM Workshop and runs very well. I got pretty much all the invoices for work carried out and since i have had it, when something needed doing I got it done. Features: 3.0ltr Vanos engine (perhaps the best engine in the 3 series) 5 speed automatic gearbox with tiptronic and sports modes Multifunction steering wheel with cruise control and radio/cd controls Front and side airbags; 6 all up Manufacturers alarm and immobilisor Black leather seats (back seats fold down in 60/40 split) Driver and passenger electric seats, with driver seat memory facility Full electrics Heated adjustable wing mirrors Auto adjust rear view mirror (against bright lights at night) Power steering Tinted windows ABS and Automatic Stability Control Air Con 3 (full) rear seat belts and leather head rests Premium sound system with 6 stack CD player, stereo and mini disc player 5 premium alloy wheels (rims are $800 new each) 225x45xR17 tyres Mats Had 2 new tyres put on around 6 months ago. Car has just had its WOF and as usual there were no probs with anything. Car was serviced 7k ago and doesnt need oil change for 18k (full synthetic only changed every 25k). The car has 216k on the clock so I am only looking for $10,995 or nearest offer. There is a warranty still on the car but it only has around 4k or around 10 months left. Transfer subject to warranty company. The exterior has some scratches and some damage to the front bumper (see pic) but I never saw it as a prob. Paint and body panels, other than above are in very good condition. The interior is the only thing that lets the car down and is in lower than average condition; with the biggest thing being the stitching in the rear middle section having come away and fading on the leather seats. Might not be expensive to tart the interior up but if your finiky about that sort of thing I guess you arent interested in a car thats done these Km's anyway. Personally I bought the car for the fun ride and it has deliviered on that no doubt! Have not yet put onto TradeMe or other sites so thought I would try here first. So, if you are interested for more information or more pics, or a test drive (!) you can ask on here or call me on 0272 496919. Cheers Dave
  3. Thanks! The car is a dream to drive, love it, will most prob end up regretting getting rid of it once its gone.....
  4. Cheers, I think your car must win the 'most kms done' award. I agree, which is why I am trying to find out what sort of price the car might be worth. Thanks again
  5. Am really pleased to hear, thanks for advising! Yes the car still runs really well, espcially as I think its always had synthetic oil.
  6. Hey guys, I have a 2002 E46 54MY 330i sedan which I am thinking of selling. It is an NZ new car with a full BMW/BMW specalist service history, but, with 215k on the clock. My question is does anyone have an idea of what they think its worth (anyone interested?) and does the 215k figure scare everyone away unless its sold at a gift price? When would something like this car become worth scrapping for its parts? The car itself is in ok condition, with the interior letting it down the most. No real panel damage though the front bumper is broken (though repairable). The car drives very well and even some of the mechanics who have driven it comment on that. It is stock standard and I there has been around $8k spent on it (over 2 years) and that also takes into account what I knew I had to do (to bring it up to spec, service, etc) when I bought the car. The biggest and only thing really to go wrong is the gearbox which was recon'd by BM Workshop. What do you rekon? Your thoughts are appreciated. Regards David
  7. Hi Glenn, thanks for that. One of the reasons I was looking for a second hand one was that I dont have much in the kitty right now. What sort of price are you looking for. Cheers! Dave
  8. Hi there. Looking to replace a faulty exhaust cam shaft speed sensor. I have a 2002 E46 330i M54 and would prefer a later model sensor if possible. Please advise if you think you might be able to help. Many thanks David
  9. Hi there, Am looking for the hazad and central locking switch (centre console) for a new shape 2002 E46 BMW. Please advise if you have one for sale and how much it would be. Cheers! David
  10. Hi, Many thanks for the reply. Can I ask if it makes any difference if I just use them to replace the fronts? The units I am looking at are second hand so would expect that they will be 'less firm' than when new(?) Thanks again for the help! Dave
  11. I have to replace my front shocks and am aware that there are at least 2 types of shocks, depending on wether the car has standard or sports suspension. Does anyone know if the 330i comes standard with sports? Cheers! Dave
  12. Hey there. You are right that it has to be a calcium/calcium battery but locally both major battery providers centuary and exzide produce a calcy/calcy battery. Both are sealed. So they are really no diff to an OEM (and lets be honest here, most OEM batteries will most prob rebadge..though not sure about BMW). As far charge rate is concerned, it is recommened that you get the same cranking amps as that of the original and this is generally dictated by the size of the unit, i.e. that it fits the hole. Hope that helps
  13. Ha, a battery is a battery. In almost all instances OEM batteries are just rebadged from other market brands. Just make sure it is heavy duty and anyway, everyone who you go to will know which is the right battery. Save yourself $$$$
  14. Hey, I have a 2002 3 series with leather interior. The leather is pretty beaten up with some of the sewing coming apart. I would like to replace the worst but cant afford much and besides the car is too high mileage to see any increase in price if i do. So, can anyone help me with which models I could look at that use the same interiors. Also, is there anyone there who has only got a portion of the leather interior they might want to sell cheaply. Many thanks Dave
  15. Hey there. A year ago I purchased an NZ new 2002 (new shape) 330i with 186k on the clock, full NZ service history and fully kitted, for under $10k. Just 2 weeks ago a 2004 (!) 330i M series, with 125,000km went on trade me for under $21k.....$20k for a 2000, hell no, you would be mad!
  16. Lol, hopefully those are the ones buying! Only looking to sell because I will most prob be leaving NZ in the next 6 months. Since the gearbox has only just been done, now seemed as good a time as any to look at selling.
  17. lol, its what i was looking for, even if its not what I want to hear!
  18. Cheers for your input. Do you think that the new gearbox adds anything to the value (having just spent $4500) or becuase of the age it doesnt?
