So a very long time since my last post but my daughter is looking at this . I am out of touch re the merits of this model and the asking price. I would appreciate any comments on what to look out for

Pretty sure my old car is coming on the market soon, would love to have her back but no room anymore. Search my old posts which cover
Oil pump drive tabs inspection and crack test - new con rod bearings – solenoid joints re-solder - BMW chassis structural foam and reinforcement plates
AC Schnitzer coil over suspension and spacers front and rear - reupholstered drivers seat and white contract stitching - OEM short shifter and ZHP knob fitted.
Underside has been fully detailed including body colour paint, Car is in AKL - keep your eyes on TM

I sold my gear (cam alignment tool + cam check tool + shim tool) to form member J-dog Sep-14. Don't know if he is still around but would be worth a PM. I spent a lot of time cutting through all of the "internet shite" around how to set up the Vanos. It has been a couple of years since I did this but can advise as required

He has my vote Tom - they say all babies are cute but some of those other critters?????????

whats next ?
For me the M3 was more a hobby than a driver so I need a replacement hobby. It will be a BMW but older with late model running gear. Really admire Westies work (and yours Josh). I am looking for inspration.

I'll swap you stock 19" + cash
Sorry but Ray scored those early on - will update my BS add
Don't budge. The price is right for your car. It will sell to someone who knows what they're looking at. Someone who just wants to buy a cheap M3 can buy one for $25K and then watch it cost them twice yours in 5 years on maintenance.
Cheers - I am staying firm on my price but (elephant in the room!) I have brought a new SS and now more than ever I find it hard to justify having the M3 in my garage. Yes I know - traitor/loser/idiot but when my daily was a ute it wasn't hard to pick the M3 for that special trip. Now the SS is not a bad drive - hopefully the honeymoon will still be over soon and (failing a sale on my terms) the M will shine through and the romance will begin again

That's a beautiful car with so much goodness thrown at it. I think you may struggle to get much value out of that goodness though from the casual buyer. I think your market at that price is a very specific buyer, one that understands and wants all the same goodness.
Do you still have the original parts? If so you could swap them on, drop the price and sell the aftermarket parts separately. You'll still struggle to get your investment back on the maintenance though.
I have been selling the original parts off as the people who have viewed is so far are keen on the car as it sits versus stock. The plan has been to recover what I can from the parts and wait for the right buyer
It would certainly make a real nice daily driver.
The price is right. Worth every cent with all the work already done. Unless you are desperate do not budge, I`m sure the new owner will be along soon.
It needs to be sitting at Hellbm where many potential buyers come and go.
Cheers Ray - yes it would get musc better exposure at yours than mine (last census my town had 960 permenant residents). Problem with yours is that I would turn my back and it would have a S62 in it - hmmm............
Would love to have it, but nowhere near being able to afford it.
To be honest if I was in the market to spend over $30k on a car, it would be hard to justify buying an E46 M3 over an E90 335i...
I'd probably still get the M3 though...
Would have agreed until I drove a 335 - very nice but not a sports car
I wonder if the way you've phrased your sales pitch is potentially deterring buyers? To someone that understands the weaker points of the E46 M3 your ad is reassuring, but for someone that knows nothing about the car other than it's scary fast perhaps it's subliminally raising a red flag?
111,000 km on a 12 year old car is still only 9,000km p/a. Realistically speaking, the motor is only just run in. At 25k that would have to be the steal of the year
Yes I thought about this - might keep it simple next TM sale cycle

So the M3 sold to a guy from Grey Lynn - give him a wave/toot/flash when you see him around. Sold off most parts too so got a pretty good settlement all things considered (i.e. current market value for these cars). Still have stock suspension, personalised plates (I BMW3 I), cam tools (cam alignment, cam check, valve shim tool) and diagnostics computor to move, any interest please send me a PM. Sad day yesterday handing over the keys but gone to a good home

Would anyone be interested in my 3 piece autoart vy wheels complete with tyres off my e46 m3
19 inch
PCD 120
Rears offset 35
Fronts offset 20
Hankook Tyres- 285/30 rears
-245/35 fronts
Looking for around 3.5k (negotiable)
Reason for sale is looking to upgrade to work's
Looks sweet GLWS
-
What is an offer you would consider on the tyres? Cheers
Just looked at the Hyperdrive website. They are quoting $352 each for the fronts and $432 for the rears - so $1,568 brand new.
Less 25% (being my estimate of the wear) = $1,176
So my buy now of $800 is a bit rich for second hand - $600 sounds like o good BS member price
Note that Ray is organising transport for another item so if you are keen this may be an easy way to get the tyres to Auckland?
Cheers
-
Will take the rims. Keen on other items. Clear your inbox.

Yes it was - cleaned out now

I am having trouble selling my M3, I am after a big price but I just need to find the right enthusiast who can recognise the value. I had one serious enquiry and off which has reduced my price expections so plan B is to re-advertise at my bottom price and sell off my extra parts seperately. Prices for these parts are open to negotiation to BS members

She looks great although I do not like the exhaust tip - I have a Schnitzer oval/2 pipe tip which you can have if you like (probably more hassel than its worth but..)

Has anyone purchased from this store? Looking at a few things i want to bring over and would like to know what theyre service is like.
I have made a few purchases with no problem at all. The only issues have been mine (not realising difference between LH and RH drive parts and also think their Real BMW brand was OEM)

Sorry Amber-Leigh but your first sig photo got the boys going and then you changed it. But now you're back!!
Good on you but I have been trying to work out what makes the perfect thread. Myself, I have put serious under the car hours followed by writing up my endeavours and re-sizeing my many photos. End result is 3-4 half assed replies and poof it's all over. Your startegy is to be young, attractive, driving a BMW. an entusiatist.........................................Ohhhh hang on. I get it - sh*t
Ok - shadow chrome or maybe pink

Oh haha, were you in the Honda Intergra?
It sure goes rather ballistic, did it sound quite loud from your perspective?
I think I would ask the same question but isn't this a bit like asking your partner if she thinks your pe*is is big

I'm very happy with the M3 so far but the exhaust note does nothing for me. I have this M Performance on my watchlist but according to some of the commentary on YouTube, it's loud. Does anyone have any experience with this system?
