it was a cheeky comment, i never expected this thread to get removed. I wasnt even around when Andrew got his kit, all I know was wat Andrew told me which I obviously didnt quite get the jist of. Nevermind it was just a joke. When I say finance I just mean his money, hes having to sell some shares to pay it off, hes not getting a loan to buy it. Hes not some random 18 year old like me, hes a business owner in his late 30's, my boss. Not so much outa his league id hope. The guys been waiting since they were produced for an opportunately to get one, the guy isnt about to buy it and not restore it, it is going to get right upto standard while its unable to be driven on NZ roads.

Hey guys and girls What is the most effective way of getting rid of breakdust. My bottlecaps have a fair bit of breakdust on them and the only way to get it off seems to be to replace them. Cheers Andy

lol chucking in a new engine ... I've heard of a few people that have had dodgy chips and its given there engine a good rooting, not to mention the fire in the engine bay .

What brand alarm is it, if its a dynatron it should come with a code card that you can use on your door latch. Write it onto your door latch and the car will magically open, alternatively pull the door latch according to the number given on the card, leaving a pause between each corresponding number, then the alarm should de-activate and the central locking may open i dunno.

all them seem to do the same general thing - i would never try purchasing one of trademe or ebay as the reliability factor is zilch. I'd recommend going to e30zone maybe or somewhere that specialises in them. Remember though it has the potential to stuff up your car should something go wrong. And I mean the cheaper more dodger chip you get ... the more likely this is gonna happen. Cheers Andy

dont need 2 threads. Theres not much point in putting a chip into a 318 as they're already slow, correct me if im wrong but I would assume the performance gain will not be all that noticeable. K&N / Exhaust / Chip would only put out a max of around 8 horsepower at a cost of aronud $500. K&N - $120 ? m325i is right - your probably better off trying to find a car that already has them and purchasing it and reselling off the car because the chances your going to be able to find some is minimal. The last few times tehy have been on trademe they have had start prices of $600 and $800. Theoretically they shouldnt be worth too much more than 14" bottlecaps, but the fact is they arent as common and are considered rare and a collectable, the chances of a cheap set coming up is very small, and the chances are that you'll be able to buy them without higher offers from other people is gonna be hard to get around too. I'd be supprised if you dont pay less than $400 with or without tyres. Make an offer on the people selling them on trademe, oh and theres no way a straight swap with new tyres is worth it. Why would someone want to downgrade from nice 15's to ugly 14's ?

well was talking with Graham the other day come to the conclusion.... its either $150-250 incl GST and get it professional installed or a of beer and get a rangi bimmersport installl Bilsteins are my xmas present so yeah - am sorting out having hte car serviced at hte moment then once I know I need to get work done on the suspension I'll burn my money @ shox.com Cheers Andy
