  1. I've done it, its basically a bolt on bolt off mod, no need to fiddle with the o2 sensors, the only thing you need to get is new exhaust gaskets and make sure the two cats on the replacement exhaust are in good nick. Also make sure you don't chuck out the old cat or give it away for free since its worth like $50.
  2. Thanks for the replies guys, need to do a bit of research now!
  3. I did the full 328 exhaust swap a few months ago, made a great gain... I'm a big fan of torque, IMO it's what makes for a relaxing drive plus you don't feel guilty like you do when you get up high in the revs ie. fuel economy. I'll try and find some M3 headers
  4. Hey all, just after a 3.15 or 3.23 or similar med case LSD that will fit my E36. Are these common in New Zealand, I don't know how many M3's get dismantled in NZ Also if anyone has some OEM black floor mats in good condition that'd be great too. Cheers,
  5. THe easy way to tell if OEM is look for lots of brake dust...lol The previous owner of mine out on some long lasting dustless pads and I'm giving them a fair workout on the street to wear them out. For anyone who didn't know there is a very easy and cheap bigger brake upgrade for teh E36's, it involves swapping to E46 328/325 or Z3 3.0 brakes. You just need the carriers for teh swap, keeo your current caliper's and pad fitment with much bigger rotors.
  6. I've done a lot of research on the M50 manifold for my 323 and whats always put me off is the loss of midrange. Mines a daily driver and since it spends almost all its time below 3500rpm, torque is much more important. Having said that the 328 has 35Nm more torque so its not as much a problem especially with a remap. If you get some quality underdrive pulleys like UUC on top of that you probably won't even lose any grunt. Personally I'm waiting for a 3.15 LSD before I do the swap that way I figure I can gain in power, torque and possibly fuel economy all at once. For anyone with auto's don't bother with the swap since the auto will be faster with more torque. PS. Interesting idea about the M3 headers, I might have to look them up myself, I didn't think they'd be a direct fit with the 328 midsection. How would Supersprint headers compare?
  7. Do you have a 323i because I'm almost certain BMW stopped making 325i's in early 95. Plus all 325's are dual outlet already. If it is a 323 with the single pipe all the way through from the headers the best bet for power is to swap in a 328 exhaust centre section and muffler as well. It makes big power gains.
